I had one surrender to me ... didn't even see it coming. I started a gigantic game with visions of entire star clusters a blaze with my foes, instead I was ostracized to a far corner with 3 small star systems and only 5 planets (none over 12 in rating) with the nearest star group far out of range. By the time I had enough life supported scouts to scan the nearby star group it turned out to be the home world of another race and every single planet was colonized and I was out of luck.

I like the blowing up of entire systems idea, if they just blew up planets you could smack down your enemies so easily that every game would become a race to build a few. While that is still possible with it blowing up an entire system, it adds a lot of complexity. Especially if a system has more than one race living on it. I mean do you hate the one race bad enough to start a war with the second? I can see players intentionally building colonies in systems with the aliens to provide themsel

I agree that espionage is pretty limited, but I kind of like it. Some of my worst experiences in previous 4X games were spending half my income on counter-espionage only to have a factory or lab be blown up every other turn (and I mean that literally). That’s not fun to me, and while its interesting to be able to attack a foe indirectly and steal tech I really hope they don't make it a major part of the game.

Try building an influence or military base in one races sector and gift it to another race. That is most evil and despicable of you .... I approve.

"Your ticket has been received. One of the staff members will review it and reply accordingly. A response to your ticket could take up to two business days." Why didn't I do this on Wednesday Oh well, no bling for my ships for a bit longer

Market Centers eventually become stock markets, which also give morale bonuses. Stock markets provide morale, influence and economic bonuses. However, the economic bonus is less then the previous version on the tech tree and the other bonuses are far less then a building focused on that area. I don't upgrade it as I don't like the less effic

When you first load a save game it seems like pretty much everything is defaulted, then over the next couple of turns things get normalized to how it was when you saved.

Keep in mind that if you become too powerfull or influent the civs may become worried about you and therefore more difficult to make them close with you. This seems to work both ways for me. If you are too strong the big civs will start beating the war drums and getting cool toward you, simply because you are a possible threat. Meanwhile, the

My problem is trying to figure out how to get some decent warships. I have researched the tech trees halfway to the end already (lots of disposable income), have access to medium, small, and tiny hulls and up to Laser V, but I can't seem to make anything more dangerous than a Star Fury. If you have medium hulls and Laser V, you can build nice

Can someone test a fleet of this fragile battle craft and report results of said test? It would be an interesting early game type of thing (like Chopping became in Civ4) I've tried a couple different strategies and it seems to work like this, IF you attack first and your ship is vastly more powerful, you win the battle. Howev

Evil my rear end, if a planet gets out of line you demolish a farm and sit back and watch them fall into line. Something I have noticed with moral, if I set my taxes to 69% every single world will have approval ratings of 79-100 with the average being at about 93%. However, if I push taxes up to 70% that one single percent drops my approval rating to an average of about 40% with some worlds getting as low as 19%

*drops to knees and worships Burianek* I've been using XP for years, but my first thought is always to go to the program files, I NEVER remember to check my documents As soon as I get off work I'm going to do that and with any luck I'll be rule the universe with Yor again in no time (Btw I love your trade script for X3, wouldn't dare run a wheat farm or complex without

I have a bit of a question about starbases. I researched the last starbase fortification tech and can upgrade the weapons on my starbases (the +30 to either beam missile or mass driver) but I can't upgrade the defenses. Did I miss something? Do I need more construction modules on my ships? Is it another tech that has the defense techs? When I got the lower techs I upgraded the starbases defenses, but now I can’t (and its my luck that they stopped using missiles and switched to mass drivers

At the start of the game everyone has to research their weapons and basic techs, the game start is very clam. Although, be careful not to get relaxed, unless you set the AI to moron the game will pick up very very quickly.

The tricky thing to the pre-canned races racial traits is that they are better than what you can do yourself, for the most part. ie, they technically use up more points than you get to distribute. So when you modify them, you cant just go back to the way it was in game. They did this to encourage you to play as the pre-canned rac
