They colony hop, they resdesign their ships for extended range, they build starbases and extend their range etc..

I don't know about you guys, but the AI tech trades amongst itself all the time. Perhaps not every 1-3 turns but I've seen empires go from begging for Tech to having the same techs as another empire.. which they happen to be friendly with.. hey! Jerks.. tech trading without me. I have gotten some techs that they won't trade for love nor money as well. So if you haven't raised the AI to Intelligent yet.. give it a try. I have fo
At trivial amounts of production, the game will say that something will be completed "never" generally it means that it will take so long to complete it's not worth displaying. Try the AI on intelligent. That makes it use it's full abilities and get bonuses to it's economy.
I posted this in another forum and it's been confirmed by 2 others. An even happens that an evil presences is on a colony. If you destroy the colony a message of "Draginol has been destroyed.. etc.." If you don't destroy the colony.. 4 - 5 turns later "Dragional has been destroyed.. etc.."
Depends on how easy the fix is.. I would say Months as well. By the time of testing, production and upgrades to a weapons system take, even in full blown war.. it's months that make more sense then weeks. I'd rather have other things tweaked first though.
I did that too in a game and noticed that the level 1 base (new and freshly constructed.. paint still dripping) doesn't give a bonus, only when I add in the economic enhancer.
As people have stated, be sure to have enough entertainment to keep them happy. Think about it this way on earth we have 6 billion people right now. The game only lists the population as the Tax Payers. So a planet of 20 billion is probably closer to 30 Billion or so. Even 20 billion is an enormous population strain.. So you make them happy with Circuses .. <img src="http://images.stardock.com/gc2/T_DL/smiles/Smile.gif" border=0 ALIGN="a
Really, if another party becomes the ruling party you technically shouldn't be able to be ruler any longer... You keep saying this. I'd love to see the reasoning behind this. Last I checked just because a house (parliment) or legislature (representative democracy) change party majorities doesn'
Probably focused his planets production on ships as well.
I do this instead.. 1) Redesign a Cargo Hull to carry sensors, life support and engines. 2) Quickbuild the new Sensor Platform 3) Send your flagship to the nearest sun 4) Send your original colony ship between a couple of possibilities (until you know more) 5) Click on the sun in a system if it's exposed it tells you how many planets and if they are habitable or not 6) Rapid Build a factory on your starting planet<br
You can either use the rotational hard point mounts or.. (on the piece you mention specifically) right below it is it's identical piece modeled for the opposite side.
Try it on Intelligent (Tough) and watch the AI spank you.
Well I would love to get more and different hull types myself
1) The population numbers are taxpayers so.. I assume there are small ferry ships that bring in the families themselves later on. 2) Ambush! Hard to escape from speed of light weapons. Turning Tail and running just makes it easier to be killed 3) Those 4 months are spent shuttling in new supplies which is where the cost comes from (1 time ships to boost to the real ship) 4) Lots more shuttles! The support range is
Yeah 2:00am makes for fuzzy thinking. When I tried to go back to an earlier saved game, the event happened on another race's world.
One of the espionage things that annoys me is that it's a continual build up. Once you've spent all you can spend.. it's spent. A counter-espionage option would be nice, especially in the late game when you have several computer players spying on you... Which means they can steal techs, check out your worlds.. etc.. IT would be nice if you could fund a single pool of counter espionage but have to still parcel out for individ
Yeah I read the backstory and so I knew where Draginol was about. I was kind of wondering what would have happened if I had just let the game go, but alas I'm trying to fight out a win and didn't want to have the Dread Lords pop up in my backyard.
Your claim of being a marketing juggernaut rings a tiny bit hollow.. Stardock has by far been amongst the most responsive group of game developers to their clients needs (us). You listen to what we say and try to figure out ways to get it working in game, without compromising your game. The only other few developer teams that have been so on the ball, that I can think of, is really City of Villains and City of Heroes. (Same game
Alright I was happily playing along (and losing) in a huge galaxy 9 player map. Stuck out in the center Suddenly I'm told that one of my planets has an evil vibe going on and that we should remove the colony. Well I waited a couple of turns, but eventually destroyed the colony and the message "Draginol has been destroyed and the universe breathes safer" appeared. I tried to reload it, but I didn't ge
Generally the AI is slow to capitalize on newly conquered planets. I think there is a priority issue there. Essentially though, there is always some production going on in those planets and factories just help it along.
Not sure what your marketing team is up to, but I know I was driven here by something in Penny Arcade. Have you thought of also going to places like them?
I did 3 things. 1) Built several military starbases to assist the ships 2) Build many small ships with as much gun as you can throw on them. Skip the armor 3) Always make sure you can attack You will lose ships. Lots of them. But the Dreadlords can only produce about 1 - 2 ships at maximum. You can produce swarms. Just keep your transports guarded and you should be able to descend upon them.
If the Achilles heel mission is the one I think it is (you are attacking a Dread Lord planet?) I just made a ton of small ships with big weapons and military starbases to make them stronger. The Dreadlords get 1 - 2 ships at a time, but you can have many more. They can take out 1-2 ships at a time, but you can take them out. You can easily make 12 ships and keep killing them as you send in wave after wave of troop transports (to kill all
Easy upgrades. Upgrading one ship at a time gets very tedious (or maybe I've just not found out how to do multiple upgrades at once?). I reacently had like 15 of the same typ There is a little checkbox that says [ ] UIpgrade all ships of this type <TABLE cellpadding=8 width="95%" align=cent
Yeah I found two of them. Same thing.. only showed Mass Driver strength and it was off.
