Because we're afraid of the retailers because we have no spine. (Ever see that Star Trek TNG episode where they took Worf's spine out? Same operation, lost the spine). I swear I keep a watch on the boards just to see Frogboy's postings

I'm not exactly sure what these reference but I tend to notice a few things a) Luck tends to get you more ethical choices and more random events (like Lucky Rangers!) b) Creativity - not a clue yet. Some random events tend to be things that are research related and I have noticed a trend for them to pop up more often with creative around.

You do know you can lose a campaign mission and take an alternative route right? The whole point of Siege was so that expert players would have a challenge and other players could go to the alternative missions. If you're playign to win every single mission, you're missing out on a lot of the cool missions. </TR

Very true. They are cool but one thing that bugs me is that there doesnt seem to be that many benifits of being a good guy... I normaly end up exterminating or enslaving the locals lol. Actually there are several, but not through the anomolies. The anomolies just make it cheaper for you to become goo

If you don't like to do the ship design one simple fix is to just click on the parts you want to use. Butt ugly, but can make a ship in 20 seconds.

Frogboy/Brad the lead developer has said before that it's a bit random with a lot of influence from diplomacy and how hard you are kicking someone's butt. If you hit them with a giant sledgehammer attack, they tend to surrender quicker then if you pick them off one planet at a time, and usually too you. The rest of the time, it's a bit of a crap shoot depending on how much they like or dislike you (not just the race relations but what affects them,..

Wouldn't there be some brave souls willing to make smuggling runs? When two nations are at war and trade goods become scarce, low supply high demand...don't tell me some brave soul wouldn't find a way to get rich quick. Well the way Gal Civ 2 sets up trade routes, essentially they are massive u

I have to admit I was completly taken back by this and it was awsome! Playing on intelligent and in a medium sized galaxy. I had managed to outrace everyone on the colony production (This method does NOT work.. I've lost more games by overexpanding..) and I was in the center of the galaxy. I had a nice custom race with a good tech bonus and was grinding away at things as my colonies built themselves up and I climbed slo

It's random I've been off by myself in the corner of the galaxy.. And squeezed between 4 empires as well. I lost the corner game and won the squeezed game all depends on how it goes.

Pretty much it was put in by the Devs to stop you from researching everything anytime you wanted. To force you to make choices. So that if you are going lasers.. you can't switch to missiles suddenly without some penelty. Those going for the Research victory need to be very efficient in what they are researching.

Can't really blame them.. they're twitchy. They know they sit on the best planets and can be easily wiped out... Heh seriously I've seen that a few times too, they tend to be twitchier then computer opponents.

As far as I've seen you want 1.25 - 1.5 morale increasers for every farm. Build 2 farms, build 3 morale. On a 300% farm building you essentially build 4 farms on the same location Which means you need almost 6 morale. If the morale buildings aren't equal to the farms in technology level.. you need more of them.
