I got frustrated by the demo ending in januari 2190 as well.. so I started a new game with all 5 opponents on Fool difficulty, packed in a tiny galaxy. Conquered them, and 3 minor civs, by august 2189. I "finished" the demo. ( All 4X vets are probably laughing their collective asses off ) GalCiv 1 is still a nice game in it's own right, but I can't afford to buy 2

I think some people have been reading Penny Arcade. Yeah, their recent posts about guerilla marketing were quite good imho. I don't really care about covert marketing though, if the article is fun to read. I'll make up my mind about a game myself, with the help of reliable reviews like those

The good people at [link=http://www.gamerevolution.com/]Game Revolution">Link posted a nice preview of the game. Its not as extensive as some previews at other sites, but its good to know GC2 is getting a name out there. I really like the intro : "In space, nobody can hear you strategize." Here's a link in case the artic

Congratulations to the entire GC2 crew. Maybe there's still work to be done, but I hope you'll enjoy your well earned rest ( and sales ) very soon.

'T is as I feared... the "all pre-orders receive the same bonuses" creed only applies to the States / Canada. Perhaps also to on-line orders such as Amazon.com or play.com. Meh. I'm gonna play it safe and order the boxed version from SD itself, risking 20€ of customs taxes.

It is the same in GC2 but the 14 number I referred to is the average income that is reported to you when the freighter makes first planetfall. I see. I have no idea then what causes this cashflow. Maybe the Dark Yor are a bunch of cheaters ? </font

Did you look at the position of the mini-freighters ? The further they are away from the trade routes point of origin the more revenue they generate. Maybe the ones on the longer routes only just departed while the one on the short route was well underway ? At least, that's how trade worked in GalCiv 1. I have no idea how GalCiv 2 functions so it's just a gamble. </f

Haha... That Korx message in the diplomacy window certainly made me chuckle. Also, I noticed Skowbo III ( Aka Garden of Eden ) is a class 35 planet Those Drengin are Terraforming Wizards ? Is there enough technology in the game to upgrade a planet 20 levels (up from the average class 15 ?)

I recently installed the GalCiv1 demo and started experimenting with the interface. When I found my economy was being trashed by +140b leases per month, I knew using the "Purchase" button often wasn't the best of ideas. On my third time through the demo though, I managed to defeat the Drengin and a minor race before 2190. So yes, you get the hang of it pretty fast if you practise and indulge your curiosity about all the butto

Could be an idea for the expansion pack. Terraforming is pretty much the holy grail of space sims in my opinion, not using terror stars. Against the ruin of the world, there is but one defense: the creative act.

Thx for the heads-up. 31 is quite a lot actually. I can't imagine fully upgrading a Starbase unless that vote is passed. But what are the odds of the UP bringing up the issue ? They don't scare me. I own them Dance puppets.

Heh Reminds me of the opening scene in Pitch Black where our civvy transport flies through a meteor storm... It would be cool but not very fun gameplay-wise imo.
