Click the pre-order button on the left and pick the right option [retail CD]. This will get you both a temporary serial to DL the game, and a CD after the 21th. I think you still get all bonuses. I didn't hear anything to contradict this assumption.
Silent Archer
The Overmind does not tolerate those who refuse to obey the subtle tug of suggestion. I'd rather die on my feet than live on my knees. I think I'll join this "Jedi Republic" if it adheres to the "Benevolence through strength" principle.
@ Brad and the Stardockians : ( Nice name for a band ) I'm a bit concerned about my order... Februari 15th I received my pre-load email. However, it mentioned another Order number than the form I printed after pre-ordering the boxed version through the SD site itself. And no, I'm not talking about the Serial number. I know pre-orders for the boxed version get a tempor
@ Shall : C++ can be thought of as C# 's "foundation". C# is based on it, though they are still rather different. I'm learning C# .NET right now at college, though I 'd prefer to learn Java. Alas, we have no choice. Java is also based on C++ but it is platform independent, unlike that damn .NET environment. @ Brad : Sorry you'll have to wait (at least) 2.5 years + me moving to Michigan from the equally sunny Antwerp to enlist
Hmm I don't want to see Dread Lord ships right now. I'd prefer to encounter them during the campaign. Hunger is the best sauce guys
First GalCiv universe background, now SD history... we're getting spoiled here. Btw, maybe you can alter Michigan's climate with the money you're going to make Brad. Or use virtual reality. Now that we're talking about the weather, you guys should read this hilarious PvP episode about the snowfall in Boston. Link
I'm quite excited about the campaign. ( I'm a sucker for a good story. ) But I think I'll play a few sandbox games first just to get a hang for the game ( after the tutorials off course. )
Right now you don't need any upgrades. If you're really sooo desperate to spend money, buy more RAM. You can't have too much RAM Your video card is quite good, don't go spending green on overpriced 1-month old cards. I'd save the money and buy upgrades when you need em in a few years.
You should get your temporary serial #'s on Wednesday. Thx Brad @ Frightlever : What made you so hostile ? Both the Stardockians and regular forumers here are very open-minded imho.
I assume it's impossible for the general public to read those original 9 manuscripts ? Although I hope my conclusion is incorrect
Because nobody answered my question... I'm going to repeat it. Please forgive my uncertainty. For those of us who pre-ordered the boxed version of the game (directly from SD)... When are we supposed to receive our temporary serials ? Because if you should receive it soon after placing your order...
The game has gone gold, so whatever Stardock does now, it won't influence the release date. That being said, I believe they deserve a bit of rest. Before they get to work on the BonusPack, not some mini-games.
Yes... If you pre-order from Stardock you get the Collectors Edition even if you live in Europe. However.. you need the BOXED version to get all of them. If you pre-order the download version you will get extra content: Additional ship components, the Galactic Civilizations Desktop... But you can't download a poster can you ? So you need the boxed edition for everything.
'check the website multiple times per day' -- check 'read through all 20something pages of journals' -- check ( journals pwn ) 'download the fansite kit just to get the trailer and screenshots' -- check 'preorder from the website' -- check singing "What shall we do with the Drengin sailor." -- check
For those of us who pre-ordered the boxed version of the game (directly from SD)... When are we supposed to receive our temporary serials ? Because if you should receive it soon after placing your order... my order didn't get through.
Bastard. /me loves Raptor HD's
If you loved MoM I would Highly recommend Age of Wonders: Shadow Magic. A top notch game! Pretty much has everything MoM had ... Dano I have that game but I was kinda disappointed by it. Maybe just because I ran it on an older PC and every damn turn end took 4 minutes. <img src="smiles/Mad.gif"
Old skool RAM A couple of friends of mine recently stripped 20 decommisioned 10-year old workstations of all the RAM and 4 GB Harddisks. I wonder what they're gonna do with that junk *rolleyes*
Bring back my ability to play as evil or i will have to change my alias from Darth Griffn to something like Sitting on the wall in the middle Griffin, or Neutral Griffin Exit Hawk of Darkness... Are you a Berserk reader.. or somebody who coinciden
@ Spiceant : You can't use bank accounts. I'm Belgian so I had trouble with this as well. Either you get yourself a creditcard to pre-order, or you start a PayPal account. PayPal account can be charged ( opgeladen zoals Proton ) with your bank account. I tried this myself but Dutch banks support PayPal while Belgian banks don't. However, you can only use your PayPal account to order your game on-line ( [email protected]
Quote from the Manual - Draft 3 : These Starbases can extend bonuses to ships or colonies up to eight parsecs away. Edit : Off course, the manual already has some erroneous statements so I wouldn't bet on it
Here we will let you test the Gamma but if you say squat about it in the forums we have the right to: a) Poke you twice in one eye. b) Flick your nose. c) Flick your friends nose. d) Spank the bottom of yer feet. Oh mercy
What's NDA preciousss ? I know in GalCiv1 you could select different types of planetary bombardment ( or more accurately, planetary destruction ) before launching the gound troops so that enemy resistance will be severely weakened. These weapons will destroy the planet's quality and / or built social projects though. I assume GalCiv2 will feature these options as
Or an intelligent user behind that rig...
...almost all of the games under the Star Wars liscence have been horrible. I disagree. The X-wing ( arcade space combat ), Jedi Knight ( FPS ), and Knights of the Old Republic ( RPG ) series were a lot of fun imho. I admit that there are many crappy Star Wars games, but some jewels among the junk as w
