I think I agree with people that say we should have a mix of ideas. Organic roads are a very good and natural idea, generally roads between citys start out as dirt/caravan tracks of traders moving between cities. The traders are going to find the easiest/best route for them between the cities. Generally however at some point, assuming that the cities are growing and prospering, the government will HAVE to invest in building roads to be able to increase the amount of traffic. Governments that

Actually the topic of the thread is basically what can we learn from the screenshot, so he's basically just speculating on something he noticed. Also keep in mind the game is pre-alpha, it could just be a placeholder at this point.
Yeah but if we didn't speculate what would we have to talk about?
It's the same in Civilization. You start with a settler, but you still loose the game if you loose all your cities.
Actually, I don't have the quote to prove it, but brad definitely stated that you start the game with just yourself (i.e. the channeler) wandering around. I think he said that if you then decided to invest essence in an area to make it habitable people would be drawn from the surroundings to populate the t
Well I think the point is that Elemental is supposed to be the spiritual heir as opposed to the direct descendant of MoM. I think they want to capture all of the same gameplay styles that MoM had and capture the same audience that has been waiting for a sequel forever. That being said, I don't think there's even close to enough details yet to say whats similar. No doubt information will continue to flow, especially once alpha starts.
I don't know about how in depth, but it has been brought up before. I think the basic idea is that a channeler who has many cities will be chosing to invest his power in the industrial might of his empire. I.e. he will be the one who has large armies/trade routes/better weapons etc. On the other hand the channeler who has very few cities will have far more power invested in himself and would likely have access to spells that could handle the legions sent against him. <p

Either way, here's my votes though, borg vs flood: borg, because flood is biology that takes over biology, whereas borg is technology that takes over biology so borg nanos could rewrite flood DNA and flood couldn't do jack against tech. federation vs covenant: federation. Simply put all the federation needs to do is make an antimatter torpedo (they use antimatter regularly as a power source since TOS) fire that at an unshielded covenant ship, and there's one toasty coven
Problem with this thread is that when you include books in with video games/tv shows, they are often inconsistent with themselves. I remember reading the ST book Vendetta years ago where they said that warp 10 was the speed limit of the galaxy, and that when you reached it you were theoretically in all places at once. They clocked 9.9 to be somewhere around 3000c. Then if you ever watched the last episode of ST, the future version of the Enterprise-D with the 3rd nacelle and

"High tech" does not imply that it's even in the realm of possibility, much less plausible. That's what I was making fun of. You must see the huge irony in picking out scientific inaccuracies in the new movie while being perfectly fine with faster than light travel without which Star Trek would

No matter how much money you throwed at a PC in 2005, you are going to have to get a new one to play that game (or over the years you would have spent a lot of mon

Personally i'm rather sick of star trek using alternate realities as a prop to spin off entirely new series/movies as a valid license to just wave around and say "look, I don't have to fit in with the established stories, alternate reality remember?". Honestly, it's star trek, its famous for whats already been written and thats why most of us were drawn in to see the new movie (imo). It just seems to me like a terrible cop out to just use this movie to lay the groundwork for the inexora
Well the entire season is only $34.95, that's for 5 episodes. They will be released with roughly a month between each. It just means each one will be it's own little mini story but there will be an overall story going on no doubt concluded with the final episode. Having played the Sam and Max episodes the quality is good, I just hope they capture that SoMI atmosphere and humour just right. Although I can't garauntee it

Did anyone else catch this part? "Following the tradition of Telltale Games, Tales of Monkey Island will be episodic, a five-part series set to be released monthly (more or less.)" I don't know about anyone else but this already irks me. When I buy a game, I want the whole damn game, not just dribs and drabs released to me per the developers whims. Other games have add-ons such as entrenchment for SOASE which is fine because SOASE is a complete game on it's
