Activation of my copy of network object desktop has worked apart from icon packager which for some reason needs it's own activation serial key number which should not be the case as it's part of the OD suite and should've automatically have been activated thru star central when suite was registered, anyone come across this and know a fix apart from deleting Object Desktop and reinstalling (no other versions of any wincustomise products were installed before installation of OD

Ubuntu is free and can be ordered for free if you put in a request for them at the Ubuntu site as they will send you the DVD'S (They'll send 5 DVD's the other 4 are for anyone else you might want to give them too)and why delete xp when dual booting can be done with ease, works for me (well sort of i still have to get ubuntu to boot as i have fedora installed as well but have'nt got round to putting ubuntu into the fedora grub)

Use nortons uninstall tool to remove it's AV not windows add/remove,you'll have to download it from their site. As for a new free AV it's either AVG or Avast both are pretty much similar in detection rates, i tried avast and avg and stuck with avg, you could always google > "the best free anti virus" i would think cnet would also have a comparison chart of what's good and what's not

Uninstalling thru add/remove will more than likley not solve the problem, to do a full removal download the norton uninstall tool and use that instead then reinstall and all should be fine. Sadly when norton gets an error your bets bet is too uninstall and then reinstall,if the reinstall still shows the error you'll need to use their uninstall tool as not all .dll's are removed etc

I found this issue applies if you set settings for taskbar size to small or let skin decide taskbar size (if skin is using small taskbar setting),on occasions rebooting may fix it if not you will need to increase taskbar size or you could do as i do and leave it blank and use a widget to show what tasks are running(drackush taskbar and system tray desktopx object or there is another which has a transparent movable widget or object but i can't find it, also i think object dock has that function w

I'd start by cleaning your system, for a safe registry clean use "toni arts easy cleaner" or if your comfortable use ccleaner, then right click on my computer, clik properties, clik on advance tab, clik on the settings button in performance, clik on advance, clik on virtual memory "change" button, tick the box "no page file" and apply,if you use hybernation disable it,then boot into safe mode and defrag, after defrag re-apply page file,go get any updates from microsoft,IE7 has also been updated to IE7 1
