Is it true that ealier versions of wb inc wb4 have no time limit and don't need to be purchased and are free for personal use and it's only wb5 that has a trial period and needs to be bought, need to settle a debate as i was under the assumption anything wb that had no trial was a cracked version cheers

Yeah great that's all i need instead of getting an error message when clicking on an app to start it , now the comp will tell me in a real voice where i can stick it *scorp goes to secret lab and begins making necessary recordings* "mutley laugh"

OK i think this would be a good time to involve the big guns,at tech republic there is a Q & A section where you can make a post ,the same at the last two tho info packets may give you a direct email to a fix if you email them directly, you might want to sign up to the three for their newsletter emails as they have stacks of tips ,if you poke around tech republic's home page you'll find links to useful downloads At pc mechanic home page lo

I agree with neil in his post as wb is not loaded when booting to safe mode only minimal system requirements are loaded ,also i just googled for your error it seems it may be due to a bios setting from a bios update or a overclocked machine ??? The only time i could'nt boot xp was when i engaged logon studio but all i got was the black bios screen and fixed it by going into safe mode and deactivating it and restarting and all was good other than t

Yeah it can take a couple of go's to logout...lol... it's like the site don't want anyone to leave, it's most probably due to overworked servers as at diff times things are fine,as for going to get an update to WB5 i doubt that'll fix it as the blind is pre-update plus are'nt the updates beta. PS: Does this mean there's a cheap WB i'll give you $10.00 for it,well you have used it so it's 2nd hand aint it <img src="http://images3.stardock.co

I've had the same issue on more than one occasion where ff,opera and netscape can connect but IE can't, a defrag and restart fixed it, also use ccleaner or easycleaner(both are free and free of spy and ad) to check for any registry entries from uninstalled progs like yahoo assuming that optimise can't go that deep you then maybe able to reinstall the progs after deleting the keys

I tried installing v2.0 .NET last year on my comp and what i found was v1.1 was still in the add/remove and after deleting v1.1 and then going to m/s update to check for more upates it said i needed 1.1 .NET when i already had v2.0 installed, according to the phone help desk they reckoned it was ok to install over the old pffffft i beg to differ. Not only that windoctor picked up a few crap entries and could'nt delete them, guess i'm gunna have to emai

Just this minit put WB5 back to classic and rebooted and i still can't open more than one at a time anyone else had this prob and managed a work around, basicly it will only let me open one at a time. PS: It's got nothing to do with this comp as it is not buggy and the comp is kept in tip top shape with registry cleaners and defrag etc ,there is more than enough of ram and cpu power and it's a bought version of object

It's not good when a program does'nt uninstall completely so the best thing to do is try to manually delete as much as poss, then go get ccleaner or easycleaner (it's free). I use ccleaner, then by cliking on the registry button run the program and untick all except what is associated with whatever prog you have deleted, anything you do not recognise do not delete, also use IE folder search function and create a shortcut to the desktop of the prefetch folder, then delete all the contents

There will be shortages ,it states 1 million per market i assume the American market includes Canada, then there's 1 mill for the whole of Europe and Japan respectively assuming there are'nt any major bugs found that can't be fixed in time for launch date, then they say 1 million per month ??? so there is no mention of per market which means 1 mill worldwide each month and in turn us Kiwi's and Aussies won't see it till around march-April 2007 if we're

Check your settings for skinning as you can enable or disable what gets skinned and what does'nt by ticking the appropriate check boxes, open WB then in the top left part look for basic user settings and also make sure the user overrides are how you want them.Basicly just spend a bit of time tinkering

Rebooting won't work ,the quickest way to fix is to revert to an earlier time by using system restore if available, if not go to microsoft update and download any patches available, the cause i suspect is a conflict of software, so what have you changed recently will be the cause possably . you might find the answer at microsoft or try any of the below sites as there are it guys there that will be able to help so go to techrepublic first, you can also use google and type "The

If it only happens while closing the running program i would'nt worry about it, usually means lack of memory, buggy software ,use google and type "what is a runtime error" or you could type whatever the error message says into google and see what it comes back with, it's when it shuts down when using the program that you should begin to worry not after you have closed it
