Warcraft 3 (the section of battle.net that WC3 uses is a hybrid p2p and client-server system)
Untrue. It says that on the site but this has been discussed on these forums to nauseating ends. They might call it a hybrid, they can call it anything they want. But at the end of the day its server to client.

If you get it, be prepared to actually practice your grappling and jui-jitsu.
Learning curve isn't THAT steep. I mean the game has a lot of depth in combat, but it's SOOO easy to just flash knockout everyone it takes a lot away from the game IMO. You can takedown someone and then watch them get out of a submission or you can kick headkick
Personally, I like this idea. Perhaps you could only sellback for full price if you haven't left the shop screen yet? Certainly, combined with the minion exploit, this could lead to bad things. What I don't see is why many of you are deciding to be so hostile (and, dare I say, elitist) towards an idea which won't hurt game balance and will help people who are learning the game have an easier time. Occaisionally, just occ

Not sure about the connection. But once you own the game you patch it through impulse. Open impulse it'll check for an update. Click the update tab, click install all updates and you're good to go.

Not a connection issue for me however some crybaby just left a game (4v4 after coughing up first blood) when he left I got booted as well. You need to fix that, as the host of the game, killing the first person, why should I get dropped?
They compare it to it because the genre was born from it (yes AoS was first but DotA made it a phenomenon). There's nothing else to compare it to out there. DotA being a mod has nothing to do with anything. There's millions of people playing that mod, which is impressive. Maybe when LoL and more games come out newer games won't be compared as much, but I doubt it. Not what I'd call a big deal, or a deal at all.
Sentry wards see literally 2 inches unless someone is by them. In DotA once a tower has lost health it has zero way to regen. That's why you place both sentry and observer wards - observers for the sight and sentries for the invis - assuming any enemy even has invis, in which case you might not need the sentry. Also thunder panda can for all intents and purposes port anywhere on a whim with no cooldown<

Don't understand why a random option wasn't included at launch. AR games meh, they're popular but after about 1000 of them it gets a bit old. I still play them when I have to (no one joining RD/SD). I'd be fine if some sort of AR was possible. But at the very least a personal random should be possible.
In fact, if you go back to your citadel and defend it from said giants, you will level EXTREMELY quickly. On more than one occasion, my team has been able to push back from the brink of death and completely overhwlem the opposing team since their giants let us level way past them. This leads directly into another important idea: Don't buy giants until you are ABSOLUTELY certain that you will be able to destroy the opposing team's citadel in one swift pu
