Negative here. I'm using a FX5200 which the new drivers don't even support, but they do work- and surprisingly well compared to the pack-in ones. Checked hardware acceleration? Otherwise, it's definitely the codecs. Trust NOTHING but K-lite.

Open source tears big projects apart. Look at how incompetent GIMP, Blender and Audacity are. tsk tsk tsk. Linux- Unless you really want to spend more time self-indulging in tweaking using command-line, it's not for you. I *think* most people here would agree with me.
You could also strip-dance to Franz Ferdinand. And get the software money in 3 days. Seriously, if you can't even get the software, you're going to have a hard, hard, hard, hard (let's drag this to infinity) time using MAX. And also, add $600 to the price for vRay. MAX is quite cheap already- Houdini used to cost 18k.
I think .dream format is a bunch of crap, designed to get more money out of the public. If wanting it your going to have to spend more money to upgrade your windows so you can buy the .dreams at an inflated price. XP has an active desktop that ran animated gifs quite nicely. and we all know that you can do a hell of a lot with animated gifs. Fourtyacres Talk ab
3.2mhz That explains. I think the EIDE wasn't the best desicion. You could buy a cheap SATA card and another cheaper SATA 500GB. You might also want to check if your Hard drive is running in PIO mode instead of DMA, which doesn't chug that much on XP but Vista being an disk-access heavy OS, that's rather different. (On a side note, how b
By cutting edge, I was referring to Windows Vista, not the x850xt.... And I'm sorry, it IS ridiculous that a video card with the power of an x850xt can't do this. There is NO technical reason why it can't. It's not like the GPU is "just too slow" - it all comes down to idiotic design at MS. Why, exactly can it render 1600x1200 in Oblivion with no trouble, yet can't handle a simple video loop? That has NOTHING to do with how cutti
It won't work on my 256mb X850XT either in dual monitor mode. What a joke.... "cutting edge" and it can't handle more than one frackin monitor. I dunno, but an X850 driving 2 monitors is rather far from cutting edge. Respect your graphics card- WDM isn't like simple GDI calls that can be processed easily. And the X850XT is 2.5-year tech, to add unto it.
Most probably a DXVA 2.0 coding problem. You either get a patch, or a workaround for good cards (I don't consider an X1600 good for 2 screens) rendering the goods. At the same time still, there's no real dreams supporting 2 monitors yet. Anything that reaches the edges can't be used. You COULD try resizing a lower-res black B/G dream and center it. Might get 2 motions.
Buying footage from this site would be the last thing EVER that I'd do. I'd rather steal a renderfarm and use Maya & Mental Ray on 'em! BTW on the cloud pack: Non HD rendered clouds, half of 'em taken directly taken from Vue 6 presets/scenes ? That's pretty much NOT a deal.
Damn! 2.6 here, hampered by my FX5200. I want to actually play my OWN dreams! (Well, just wait. My Octacore is coming. Just a matter of time.)
Welcome to the Zune. Note- I don't have one yet, but I heard sound quality is superb and the screen is good. Drag and drop needs a registry hack (should be automized into an app by now) though.
Member Since Aug 9, 2005 Bytes Downloaded 2 mb Beat me. I dare ya.
I wish that DeskScapes could support better triggers, not just based on time but also specific days, weather conditions, and maybe sometimes random number generations. I *might* make a whole lot of similar dreams and trigger them, making a dynamic video desktop. Now SD has to host the whole 200MB lot though.
Have you tried uploading using this url? https://www.wincustomize.com/upload2.aspx If not, try that one. It does the same- no progress bar, same timeout. Ugh... =[
Gideon, AMD? Maybe, maybe not. But either way I don't think it alters the spirit of what I said. It's not unreasonable to suppose that the pressure that forced Intel to make a stellar processor like the C2D (I really do love them) is because AMD, a smaller company, was completely owning them on a regular basis. Big companies like Intel have big egos. Wait until they re-release the Athlon 64-based chips with new Mi
And rapidshare, megaupload do. :/ I keep getting damn timeouts! Preview: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uG8FDYDCN2Q (Final version's a little darker though) Download sites: http://rapidshare.com/files/24438116/LUXE.Dream.html http://www.megaupload.com/?d=2OABU7S9 And if any mod can help add this to my queue, it's really appreciated.
I can't upload anything big, plain and simple. The site seems to revert back to the original version upload, only the wordings change?
I think it's absolutely redundant and pointless. Permissions and all that are passe. If I REALLY want to get a skin up and running, I'd rathr collaborate with said author and do something kickass rather than recycling the same old image till dear kingdom come. Otherwise I'd just do a SCREENSHOT with customized versions that I would distribute only in PRIVATE or public after having original author's permission. No excuse to any of that I think.
Why pay for bloat? Check out Beryl on Linux when coupled with GLX or AIGLX. You can flip the entire desktop like a cube and a bunch of stuff Vista can't do. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g2qGnasTV3c&NR=1 ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i0ZtcxHUSDQ Truth be told, isn't Linux theoretically more bloat-ish with all its 2000+ dependancies? My tip: take a 5 to 10 second high quality video loop (via, mpeg2) and import into adobe flash mx 2004 or later. save as animated GIF image and resize it to 768x1024. with the right compression you could have a high quality animated image. now add the image to your desktop and WALLAH!!! animated desktop. i do that because i myself can not afford anything but xp. and it's a lot better than using a program to do the work which will decrease cpu usage
Did you mean the computer literate, esp. excluding 7-year old kids? (I started young though) All the good stuff nowadays generally isn't free (and the free ones are just awkwardly placed- uxtheme for example). We have awesome technology like Dreamscene and WB5 (though it's been some time) but both have a rather steep pricetag for people who do not pay through the internet. (Everything looks cheaper in real cash.) Besides that, there are a few communities that are rather snobby on cu
I've heard that HDTVs use special chips to upscale lower-res content to look nice on higher-res displays. Compared to NATIVE resolution, they do look better (point in case: Upscaled DVDs.) So, would anyone want to give any dream a try? Upscale it to 1080 NOT with any cheap-ass video editing program, but with something like Premiere or Vegas. I don't have a Hugh Jazz monitor so I won't notice anything different, but those whiners should definitely experiment instead of screaming up on th
