Why I like Vista: It seperates the wannabe tech boys from the real tech men. ;) That's why you see outsed boys spreading F-U-D on already debunked issues such as DRM, etc. Not that MS is ever gonna give them a complimentary copy, though. p/s: Opera seems to be very quirky with WC Forums. (For example emotes) Any idea?

Whoo, large gene(ir)rational gaps here. 16 and getting smaller.
People who don't buy OSes themselves never know how much work goes into them. Beauty is more than skin deep, and with Vista it shows. Awesome improvements and it JUST happens to look prettier. Me? I got mine as a beta testing gift. Aww you say, but Beta/RC was hell. Vista final as it goes, is just smooth bliss. Unless you're a troll on multiple boards and communities with no apparent logic whatsoever, insulting others and being WHINY yourself. *AHEM* Dreamscene final i
Yes! Finally SS is much more down-to-earth for people like me. I'd still dip my feet in a native Vista Aero style first, still.
Happy belated birthday Brad!
ID, since you have a Q, did you update anything since purchase? The first few versions of OS/Firmware was anything but stable. I'll see if this turns out good, I'll get a HTC Touch instead of the RAZR2.
It always works the same, WC or YT or whatever place. Being "useful" gets you perks others normally can't. I won't say I agree with it, but still, all this rant for 10+ min videos? You could split them and save a lot more agony in editing. At least YT doesn't ask for money for video ratings
Bootylicious! Err... I mean... congrats! (phew.)
Diablo II. =p
But... dreams are just dlls and other resource files runned by a unified executable that Stardock uses for all its "Desktops" (Natural desktop???) interaction. Unless that's DesktopX (silly me) Dreams as your screensaver? Just use dreams and turn the screensaver off!
I have one Barton 2500+ Socket A Locked multipliers (unfortunately), and that's what I'm using now. Might plan to sell it when AMD launches their new Phenom Quad-core CPUs, but that's Winter... If you want one now, the only choices are hardware forums with a "Garage Sales" section. Still, it's more worthwhile to upgrade to Socket 939- CPUs are still available (but scarce), you still get to use your RAM and graphics if you want.
LUUUUUDRRRRRRICIOUS! Taking out the multiples still has me lost.....Ludricious? .... D= That word used to exist. With magic mushrooms too!
If I spend a few weeks creating a dream I would prefer to sell it. you could start your own site. LUUUUUDRRRRRRICIOUS! <b
An animated avatar running on Windowblinds skins. OK, you got me. WOW.
Truth be told, I hardly understand why suites are needed. Part of the FUN in customizing is getting all the pieces of a jigsaw puzzle to fit nicely. Getting them to look more than just skinned- making 'em totally different. IMHO though not a paying customer (yet), I think Stardock Design should give up the suites' unified (but somehow restricting) look, and go for more streamlined elements and bundle them together (promotions) instead.
Hmm... licensing... Volume license plans? A nonprofit organization could note MS and ask them for an offer on Windows Fundamentals. Or MS should offer one. When Ubuntu becomes usable for everything including Winamp in a seamless environment (Automated WinE), I'll jump from XP . (Too bad Vista arrived. ) Linux in general, still feels REALLY limiting in terms of what you can do even when it off
708090 is the BEST skin I've ever seen. Monotone, chic, friendly too. What more can be asked of a great FF skin?
Java ?!?!?! .NET looks on you gleefully.
MPEG2 expands video sizes a LOT. I'm using TMPEGEnc as it's the only one that can be customized to have different resolutions. As for WMV, set the quality settings to VBR constrained, then CPU load will fall too.
I'm offering hi-res links seperately on a high-speed mirror database. So far I've managed to avoid the agony that is 1080 in 16:9, but I don't know how long I'll be able to last. BTW, WMV on a resolution that high is suicide. Better use MPEG2, as you're already going big, you might as well get even bigger. As for lower rezzes, you might as well use WMV since it saves more space.
Who actually uses Photobucket? Internationally, it's UNUSABLE. Slowest transfer rates I've ever seen- it's like 56k. All hail imageshack.
I *guess* they'll just push it to WB6 . Like Adobe's CS3- Universal Binary approach. But didn't an article mention you guys were gonna get the beta anyways?
Thanks for the mention. April was really a notch up in seeing what was possible in Dreams. So let's see what May brings
Gideon, the Win16 -> XP path was even worse. No drivers for MONTHS, old software stalled, and for the first few months before SP1 came it was just as avoidable. We're seeing the same patterns here. XP was a polished version of 2000, Vista applies too. System Admins won't need AERO for sure. Vista to most people who appreciate it, was like a out of box dream. It was instantly usable, although definitely not for prime performance. But for the first time in Windows history, has an OS
