Well, the whole idea of "Army Support" of most video games is off anyway. You don't need to maintain a supply line, for example. You can't undermine an opposing army by striking at their strategic necessities. An army in the field don't cost more than an army based somewhere.

One thing that somewhat disappointed me and somewhat tired me out of Fallen Enchantress (and Legendary Heroes) is the Heroes. The game is genuinely good, but I feel like StarDock overly relied on the standard gaming paradigm that Heroes should be gamed as “One Super Unit”. Sure, a super-unit that gains experience. That can get certain special abilities, that you can play dress-up and equip with special equipment, but nevertheless nothing more than “Sup

Although if your city naturally expand toward a river or a forest, the choice to expand there will open up. Is there requirement to build a well?

Path of the Governor should also gain an equivalent to the Adventurer Guild's improvement; getting XP from being stationned in a city. And yes, "Drill Sergeant" would be a cool supplement to the Path of the Governor.

The Path of the Governor is sadly just counterintuitive. You only get the benefit when you station the hero into a city, but he won't get XP (except maybe with an Adventurer guild) if he is located in said city.

Let me pick up on your elaborate post by adding that it might be a good idea to have progressive perks. Something you pay extra when you pick it up, and it either increases as the unit levels, or only accessible when you reach a certain level. Might make high-leveled unit (but smallish size) more valuable?

Well, it would certainly be nice if you could appoint Champions to do stuff in your various cities. Like "Governor", "Marshal", "Bailiff", "Archmage", etc... For when you want to "retire" them without actually losing part of their usefulness. You know, kind of putting them out in the pasture.

Hmm.. Have an advanced form of Conclave to be an "Arcane Forge", where you can design and create powerful artifacts. The city then spends an amount of time actually working on it, depending on the power. The upper limit in term of power creation being linked to the # of essence in the city (a 2-essence Arcane Forge would only be able to create Tier 2 magical items). That would introduce a nice sense of balance and playchoice. Do you want to use your high-essence cities for res

I was wondering if anyone ever felt the desire to have their champions be able to recover from their odeals? While I like the mechanic that impede us whenever a champion falls in battle, the tendency for the AI to focus on always the same guys effectively makes one of your dude the eternal whipping boy, who just gets weaker as he will go. I am not asking for the removal of the mechanic, but maybe a some regeneration spells that remove 1 negative attribute from a Champio

Reply to Treasure Maps in WOM Ideas

Do you think this "Treasure Map" idea could also look like the "Old Map" idea I posted? I know the two are very similar, just.. maybe not the same theme.
I am always I little bit scared when the words AI and Learn are in the same sentence... we are going to create skynet, so that we have someone to play Elemental against
On the other hand, tell yourself that Skynet will try to destroy us by focusing his Essence in order to create a massive fireball.
You reserve your slot at retail. You miss your slot, you have to wait until the next open one.
How much sales do you hope to hit on retails as opposed to sales achieved through internet download? It always seemed to me Stardock has always been a bigger fish when it came to software sale, which is 100% independant of retail spot. Anyway, good work on the AI. I am so looking forward trying and buying this game!
