I can confirm this happening in at least two different games, and trying to save and then loading the archive seems to result in infinite "creating world" screen. debug.err from the latest one. Using autosave to return to one or two turns before seems to work, however.

I solved the problem by editing prefs.ini in My Games/Elemental. Although I tweaked various parameters, I do suspect that setting RegenerateTextureAtlas to 1 made the trick.
I updated Elemental from the prior beta, in which the problem stated in this thread had been solved, and it kept crashing either in the "appearance" tab of the sovereign creation or creating the world. So I uninstalled and reinstalled Elemental, and my old problem resurfaced. Again, I have no buttons to click so essentially I can´t do anything but start a game and move around. But on the plus side, it no longer

This problem still happens both with the prior and present beta; nothing has changed in the computer save for updated graphic drivers (ATI). Although it no longer crashes making the world, it is unplayable as there is no way to use the interface; also I am unable to change any graphic options (as checboxes do not appear) and as such cannot test other possibilities.
