I'm having the same exact issue, which started after updating last night. I've checked all my login info (through impulse and shift tab), but it still wont connect. Impulse and Elemental both have access through win7 firewall, and as I mentioned, this was a non issue before lastnight.

800x600 is still common? :SURPRISED:
Nice! How about something that explains Wincustomize awards now :)
its something I couldn't really use on a daily basis, but it sure is well done and very creative non-the-less. great job
long time ago, when the older skin sites were dropping left and right. i think brad mentioned something on skins.org and I came to check it out.
"But the thing is, the people who buy WindowBlinds tend to like a different style of skin than the people who would never buy it in the first place. Natural selection, so to speak, over many years has created a number of styles that seem to be unique to people who actually buy WindowBlinds." ...ouch
it is nice looking, i just don't see the whole "change the way you use your computer forever".
I've had the same sig on my Neowin account for years, hoping that some day some of the loud mouthed, its the internet and I'm entitled to say whatever I want, hot air balloons would take notice. Freedom is not the right to do as I wish; it’s the responsibility to do as I should. Anyone can be told what to do, not everyone can do what they should without being told to do it. Neowin is a great tech site, and there's a lot of helpful people there, but its also attr
well i can't say i am sorry to see the back of netscape. it always was an overbloated piece of crap. hopefully it recedes into history like a bad nightmare
no, it wasn't. netscape didn't get bloated until after several version iterations and competition with IE.
'Executive' cries for a different font, but the rest looks nice
meh, this site needs news, and I really can't see a whole lot of skinning news of interest being posted. with skinning for wb all but dead, its one of the few reasons I still click the site regularly, for the some-what quirky news I don't usually catch on other sites that is.
yeah, the last 3 for me are a lot better than xp. as far as rebooting, the black screen and logo is just as long, but when the screen comes up, the system actually works. not chug along for a few minutes loading all the background stuff looking likes its done but really wasn't, like XP. and stability, way better than XP on my machine. i can't recall a crash that has ever required a restart, just games to desktop and things like that... stuff that can easily be blamed on 3rd parties.
ya know there's a really, really simple solution for this. tell employees they're refrained from using the internet during billing hours for personal use. if they want to burn paid company time, let them twiddle their thumbs instead of using company equipment to do it. i get my breaks, i get my lunch, i don't see why I should be costing my firm money to screw around. anyways, the more I screw around, the less productive I am, and that just makes bonus checks that much smaller each year.
Idaho Cingular (at&t) has really bad service in Idaho. You can get (without roaming) near the Moscow and Couer d'Alene area, and down in the Treasure Valley (Boise area), but its pretty vacant in the rest except for spotty patches...at least 2 years ago this was the case anyways. I had Cingular for a couple years in Idaho, but only because I was on the nation plan and didn't incur out of network or long distance charges. I don't know if this is
i can totally see at&t filing a suit against its competitors when they refuse to willingly lock out hacked iphones.
i wish desktop x was a little more advanced. its too hard (read possibly as time consuming) to fake things with animations, and using the full power of a pc to really powerup the GUI could be a lot of fun. things like mouse clicks that produce ripple effects or distortions. again, not faked with animations, hardware effects. i've seen on occasion some neat cursorxp things, but then again, its fake, and its limited to the cursor. id like to have a interface that really responds, and be m
i find it hard to trust anything from a self confessed mac enthusiast. he makes a number of jabs at PC users, including gross generalizations. he's not comparing the two, he's trying to sell macs. look no further than his paragraph on software availability for the mac. its vague and misleading. it frankly doesn't matter how much "software is available" for it (especially when he does nothing to compare said software; internet browsers could be like comparing photoshop and paint), what matters is
these actually seemed to help, yet another minor miracle
installed them, and my system is actually still running....surprising given the amount of hardware issues i've had on a system that meets "vista ready" standards. heck, "games for windows" are giving me problems, namely Company of Heroes, which ran fine on XP. maybe the patch will help with that *cough* kind of had this coming I guess, but one would think vista ready and games for windows stickers would give you some level of comfort
subscription anything on my core OS is a big fat no thank you.
....well that explains some things. the psd bit is good news I suppose. i hope the new skin studio truly is easier to use though, its always been too burdensome and time consuming to learn/use. it's an aspect of skinning that keeps me from doing anything more than tweaking the graphics on other peoples skins to avoid using it as much as possible.
well i answered the part I cared about, but since people seem to want a bulleted list with all points answered.... C+ overall. why? the site is generally slow to get going. once I'm in a category its quick enough, such as viewing windowblinds, but waiting for the page to start accessing initially takes awhile. this is true for the forums, news posts, and comments as well... there are frequently long delays. i honestly don't care, i'm not in a huge rush, but i do have broadband
hardly ever change my desktop anymore, where as it used to be at least once a day in some fashion. ever since vista came out, there just haven't been any skins that interested me for more than a day before I go back to aero.
they need to do something like this in the US, I'd sign up =/
man you guys need some landscaping. install some bioswales and go green!
