I tried to order but can't it tells me a state is required and I live in Canada. Provinces are not listed. WTF

Windows update indicates there is 3 important updates are available ( 111.8 MB total), however when I try to install them it fails every time. I have tried this almost 20 times but it fails every time. It doesn't seem to download anything as it always indicate 0% complete. The error I get is Code 800F081F Windows update ran into a problem. I have run the Windows update readiness tool for Windows 8 but to no avail. Any help would be appreciated.

FYI In my previous post where I said it was working in a window I found I couldn't scroll the screen. After more investigation my problem is now solved. I changed the display font size which was set at 125% by the vendor to 100% and the game now runs fine. I guess I'll just have to get used to the smaller font size on 1920x1080 resolution.

Kyro FYI I finally got it to work but it is in a window. I did this by changing the valve in the prefs.ini file of MaxTextureAtlasHeight to 1024. However, once in the game if I change the resolution to 1920x1080 which is my desktop. It requires a restart and when I restart I am back to the original problem. I then go into prefs.ini and change the resolution back to 1024x768 it again works but in a window.

I just installed 952 on my new computer I7-3770k 8gig win7 64 and when trying to run the game I get to the main menu but I cannot select any options ie new game, etc. My mouse cursor is correct but can't click on anything. Have to use the task manager to get out of main screen. I had the game on my old rig and it worked correctly. Any id

Tried all that you mentioned, still the same problem. I have included the DXDiag info in a PM to you. I really appreciate you spending some time to help me.

The game is installed in G: Stardock Games/FallenEnchantress, the UAC is set to Default. I downloaded and installed 2005 runtime Libraries and the Antivirus installed is Microsoft Security Essentials. I tried to run the game again but have the same problem mentioned in the OP.
