quoting postThis is a screenshot of Elemental on a low end ATI mobile card. Sweet! My laptop has a low end ati mobile card! (Though i have to say, that screeny looks a bit sparse, a little variation between the textures of the empty tiles would be nice. Or less squaredness, i know it's a tile based game, but completely square forest are just silly.)
Well I was thinking the same at first, but if you look at the o

I actually do not mind about Turn Base or Real Time combat, I like both. I think that Real Time could be faster, so MP games could be played with faster pace, but Turn Base is definitely for those who likes to think about tactics and precision. For me i still thinks that winter would be better for elemental, do not forget, that first impression is everything. You must make it right for the first time, or you will turn of many customers. Reason for
I am really glad that elemental took this way. I for one love TBS and especialy fantasy one. It has been so long, since we have got decent TB fantasy game. All this what I have read, made me really smile and so excited for release. I for one hope, that you will continue to develop and expand elemental world for few years with expansion and modders tools, so this game will get old very slow. It would be really great, if you provided more and more tools for moders and also imple
I just saw that it was released :-) remake of this classic game... And just because, Frogboy mentioned it so many times, you can give it a try :-). I am not sure if it as good as original, have not tried it yet, but it has also multiplayer in it.
There is many great intros... So I will put just one, which I really liked and is only few weeks old :) Recommend 1080p http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ms95NKFnhCU
I quess balance approach would be the best. I mean, there is alot of games which are great for their sandbox gameplay, Sins Of a Solar Empire as an example... But also others, which are great for their stories and lore. Both of them apply to a little bit different audience, so that might be the reason, why people are split in half on this decision. However I do not know one game, which has provided great lore, storyline and campaing, and also great sandbox features. I would love if el
Is there any news on 64bit version? I was checking out features at impulse and saw that one of them is: With a 64-bit version that utilizes new technology, and an engine built to run on older machines, Elemental will seamlessly scale with your PC! Does that mean that we will definitely get 64bit version of elemental? Just curious.
I would simply make it simultaneous tourns, where all unit movements, DIPLOMACY and MARIAGE would take place after players are done with their round. After end of the turn, all units would move at the same time, and after that, when players are waiting for other which fight etc... players would be able to use diplomacy and do mariage. Being able to set how many battles per turn can player control, with battle ranking would be best I think. Some extra games are not necessary, a
I would like to see 3 options for MP: a) Classic Turn Base b ) Simultaneous Turns (everything moves instantly) c) Simultaneous Turns (Everything moves after all players gives orders and hit end round button) Money bank sounds interesting, but never tried anything like this before, It might be quiete good for competitive players. Round time limit (Being able to change it in a middle of the game would really help) Also soft time lim
I really hope for Simultaneous turns, I really think that main reason for people not playing TBS games in multiplayer is how long turns and games last. Simultaneous turns really help with game pace but also can cause issues, like people who move fast can take stuff faster etc. Still I do prefer Simultaneous turns over traditional one.
I am not saying you should get rid of them, they should stay, but they should not be majority. It should be nice balance between cool things and statistic things. Where everyone can choose its own. And just because I have mentioned things, which can affect gameplay in a interesting ways, other then +2 to spell regeneration, does not mean I do not like, statistics. Books are definitely in the game, but not levels. You get book, and you get spells from it. Or did I miss somethin
wow what a nice surprise, thank you :-)
There are some of them, but not many and it is just some equipment which I saw. And it is only a minority, like a few. Rest of them are simply generic things, not that much interesting to me. To much + and - amounts, and nothing really cool or interesting. I would really like to see spells in a tiers, where some of them would be avaible only to those, which specialize in one of the magics. Being able not only take one book, but also more levels of them, which would increase ma
I think that bonuses and weaknesses are too generic. like +% something or -% something. I would like to see more gameplay related things, like acces to some great spells which others can not get, Being able to build unigue buldings etc... no only statistic bonuses. Simply, not only getting some small bonus to something, but rather get something really cool and unique.
I really hope we will not see any builder unit, it is just too cumbersome and micro managment.
double post, sorry.
Civilization 5 will be definitely nice game. I do not expect it to be revolutionary game at all. Just polished version of civ 4 with new engine and good modding possibilites. Still elemental is completely different genre, only thing which is common is turn based strategy. Anyway civ 5 can have an edge in term of past titles- But I also believe that elemental will be much more polished and entertaining game on r
I have not personaly seen a game which gave na upper hand to player which use an instant result. It should be fair, for both sides It should not matter if you are playing battle on your own, or if you just left the battle to resolve on its own. The result should be comparable to what you would be able achieve on the battlefiled on your own. So it should be only up to you if you would like to enjoy to lead your troops into the battle or save some of your time. But the result should
Hopefully, this will work as good as possible. I am all for multiplayer games, and tactical games can really slow them down. And as you said, I always try to play battles on my own, because, I always feel that instant result is not fair. Hope you will get this right, it might be very useful for MP games.
Ok, I got it now, Thank you for explanation. You have got my support and money :-D I just did not understood the reason for it. I do now. Hope the waiting will be worth it, and do not repeat yourself again... "It will not be fun" :-P
Well, seems like we have to wait another week. Actually I have nothing againts delays, but I do not really like the excuses you are using for them. I mean announcment? Cmon... How that can delay a release twice? Even when it is not on the same day? Just try to be a little bit more honest, thats all. Yes, it's all lies. It's just how I roll. Here's how it works: We don't get to just copy some files up onto a network drive

Iam all for extended beta. And I am really glad you are thinking about it. This game is shaping to be very unique and great TBS. On today market, there is alot of good games, but only few exceptional ones. I would like this game to become classic, and extended beta would definitely help that.
