Well, I for one just want to thank you for all the time you've spent on WoM. I've been playing your version quite a bit and really enjoy what you've added to the game (I also use your artifact mod). I think you've taken it from a C to a solid B. Please take some time off and recharge before the Beta of FE comes out. We need you rested and ready to play Devil's Advocate. [e digicons]}:)[/e]

Legowarrior - If you decide to buy E:WOM, Heavenfall has a MOD that addresses many of the issues the game still has. He is really good and his work can be trusted. https://forums.elementalgame.com/412225
I'm with you Frogboy. I find scripted campaigns in strategy games boring. I tend to just jump into the game and have at it.
I'm for anything that puts the "Magic" back into the forefront. I play the game as a spellcaster, but there only a couple of things you can do & be effective. For example, summoning an Earth Elemental as soon as possible is a must if you're not reseaching weapons & armor. I think you're taking this game right where it needs to go! Is there really a downside to running a modded exe? We'll know pretty quickly if the game isn'
Moving on then. If I upgrade the game to 1.4 will I be able to download & use your latest version?
Heavenfall - I always thought your comments to Frogboy have been given in a very constructive manner. Maybe the volume of changes you suggested made Brad feel that you'd never be satisfied with E:WOM. However, I think you've shown by your work here that you want to have a positive impact on the game. Karma +1
Hey, no problem. I think this kind of stuff is fun, that's why I like Stardock & this forum. Anyhow, the old proverb worked - When all else fails start over with a clean install! Your files work fine now. I must have messed up switching from 1.0 to 1.1. I'll play your version for awhile & let you know how it goes.
I've restored the original game & it works fine. Next I'm going to redownload your 1.1 version & try it. Hopefully the problem was in not clearing something correctly after downloading 1.0. I'll let you know what happens & zip that folder for you if it doesn't work.
I copied the 2 files you were replacing to a directory outside the game directory & then I extracted your files.
I already had 1.39a installed and had played a couple of games. I'll put the original Stardock files back & remove your files & try again later since Mandragoran couldn't duplicate. Your version sounds really good.

No, it did the same thing. I tried putting the original Stardock files back & the game did exactly what you said your files would do, paused for a couple of minutes & then started.
I'm not doing anything after I click start. After the splash screen comes up, the screen goes blank. Then after about a minute, the stopped working error comes up. I tried letting that sit for 10 minutes, but nothing happened.
Game still crashed. Don't know if it will help, but this is what it said. Problem signature: Problem Event Name: APPCRASH Application Name: Elemental.exe Application Version: 1.4.0.0 Application Timestamp: 4e7b5364 Fault Module Name: Elemental.exe
New battle tactic: Death of a thousand Pioneers.
Death by Pioneer?
Okay, no rush. I'll give it a try when you figure it out. Let me know if there's anything I can do to help.
The screen goes blank for a few minutes after Brad's new splash screen comes up & then I get the "EWOM has stopped working message".
Re Derek and such, the #1 lesson is not to treat project management as a side thing. Derek has brought that onto FE. He is able to dedicate himself to the project and Myself and Jon Shafer can contribute our ideas and suggestions and feedback to Derek but ultimately it's Derek's call and he can enforce it because he's watching the daily check-ins.
I think that's the #1 problem in America today.
Played 1.4 for about an hour last night with no issues (quad core). Met 1 Sov who declared war when I wouldn't pay him his Danegelt. So far I'm steamrolling thru his towns using magic, but each one has better soldiers, so at some point I'll probably get my head handed to me.
When it's not off? Seriously, if you're asking about the 2nd game, it's going to be a new game, not an addon, Elemental: Fallen Enchantress. It has been redone almost from the ground up. Beta out this fall. We're all hoping to be blown away, but Frogboy says it'll cause cancer. [e digicons];)[/e]
I know everyone's getting hyped about FE, but I always thought there was a fun game buried in WOM. Thanks for all your hard work bringing it out.
Well, one thing you guys aren't going to see is much marketing until the beta is in your hands. The reason is that we need people who have the game on hand able to say "Yea, they're delivering the goods." Make Stardock prove it'll be awesome.[/quote Well, you won't have to worry about anyone on this forum not being brutally honest! Hopefully we'll only have nits to pick this time!
Frogboy has a new post on 1.4 in which he says that he iinadvertently introduced crashes in 1.3 trying to upgrade the multithreading for players with multi-core machines. https://forums.elementalgame.com/411513/get;2988801 He says he's found & fixed some of them, but if you've found a problem that can be reproduced you should let him know. Since this is his personnal 1.4 thread, I'd post
