I haven't done a clean install since Photoshop 5.0 Must be at least 4 years. My Win98SE installation had degraded to the point it wouldn't even boot, and couldn't be fixed, so I UPGRADED to WinXP Pro a year and a half ago. The uprade is still working fine with no apparent problems. Needless to say, I think WinXP Pro is SUPER!

A lot of ratings don't reflect the quality of the skin. They only reflect whether somebody likes the colors or the design. To me, those quick reaction, inaccurate, low ratings need to be balanced out. I feel that a skin with high-quality graphics that works correctly should be rated 7 or above. What's important to me is the quality of the graphics, the quality of the design, the colors and color harmonies, the functionality, and the legibility of the text. It doesn't matter if I like it

I love the new Windowblinds configuration window, especially the user overrides for font types and sizes, and the size of the taskbar. It's so easy to make everything legible now. Regarding Brent's suggestion: I have downloaded 540 skins which take up 215 MB. I have about 270 skins installed, which takes up an additional 470 MB - not that much by today's standards.

It may be safe to assume that the skinner didn't use any gamma adjustment, but everyone's brightness setting is different, and their monitors are different. That's why Photoshop includes tools for setting the gamma correctly. Even if you set your gamma, it needs to be different for print and for the web. Finding problems and correcting them after the skin is uploaded is one step too late. Errors should be fixed before the skin is uploaded. The skin named Foundation: when you install it, it calls itself Universal Foundation. That makes it nearly impossible to find it. That type of error should have been picked up by whoever released it, and it should have been fixed before it was released. Why doesn't Wincustomize do at least a minimal amount of quality control on WB Skins? At least 4 of the 15 most recently uploaded skins were basically unusable in their original incarnations. Many, many skins have fatal flaws. One of the weakest spots in Windowblinds is text legibility. Here are some suggestions. 1. Provide a feature that Photoshop calls "outer glow". This would put a 1 or 2 pixel border around the text and within the open areas of letters like "B", "D", etc. That would make text readable on any background. This would really free up the designers to make more complex titlebars and buttons, etc. 2. Give the user complete control over text - typeface, font size, color, shadow, outer glow, etc. T
