Here's why I don't bother with those: 1) I recall that the resolution is really crappy - 16 colors max and small dimensions. Given those stringent requirements, you're not going to be able to do much to make the boot screen look very nice. 2) It only shows up on my machine for about 1-2 seconds. Plus, I only reboot every few days. So, it's something that I'd see for a couple of seconds per week. Therefore, it's not worth spending a lot of time on. <A HREF="h

I've thought about adding those, as it can be done and would be kind of neat. I know that other metering programs hook into the MBM dlls. My problem with that is that you'd end up with non-portable themes. If you make a theme that's full of MBM stuff, it wouldn't be useful to others that don't have MBM installed. Yeah, but I think the upload instructions still say that it has to be a .bmp. (15 seconds later) Ok, I just checked. The field descriptors are like this: *Preview Image (.jpg only): *Bitmap Zip: which implies that the wall should be a bitmap instead of a .jpg or other format. And for heavens sake read some of the winamp skinning tutorials that are out there. Otherwise you'll be confused and ripping your hair out for days. Ok, I just started using the WinCustomize Browser and really like it so far. I've got a couple of questions about threads, though. 1) It seems as though when reading a thread via Internet explorer (instead of the WinCustomize Browser), it keeps track of the last response that I read for a particular thread. I forgot to mention that Stardock usually increments their version numbers closer and closer to the upcoming release. So a 1.99 means that it's almost ready to be a 2.0 release. This is kind of neat as it gives you a better idea of what's ahead and approximately how far off it is.

Thanks, Kinrik! Actually, that's the way autohide works The idea is that it's not supposed to get in your way, so it will disappear if you mouseover it. If you *want* to interact with it, just hold down the ALT, SHIFT, or CTRL key (any one of them) and then it won't hide on a mouseover. There are probably several different ways of versioning software. Some use major and minor numbers, some use alpha characters, some use both a revision and a version, the list goes on. SysMetrix's versioning is pretty basic. It simply follows VB's Major.Minor.Revision scheme - I just autoincrement for each build of SysMetrix.
