Well, mine showed up today. I had the Limited Edition ordered (from long ago) and I received the regular version. Nice.

Looking forward to terrain being much more important. Prefer random maps to match terrain...maybe use your pre-gen maps in dungeons or have the group meet a special NPC that takes them to a pre-made map as their guide. Follow the MoM plan on retreats? You have an ugly chance to lose whole units...unless you want to add in the morale factor at time of retreat or some other modifier so it wasn't just a 50/50 chance. Or have a 'whisk' spell that returns all your units to tow

Yes, the learning curve is a bit high (or I'm a bit slow) but I'm finding it interesting. Slightly annoyed that you can't handle your own research, since that was one of the 'fun' points of 4Xs for me...yes, you can channel it, but it's expensive and I'm cheap! Still, I think it is worth the time investment and I'll keep tinkering away at it until Civ 5 comes out :)

Mine upgraded automatically w/o me doing anything, which I thought odd...then today I got a 'Thank You for your Order from Stardock?" did they charge us already...or again?

I agree with Raven on the world name. Also, sometimes it's better to take combinations of words we know to make place names (or people) rather than ones that are entirely fiction...a good mix might be best, i.e., Ironhough, Stelewerk, Thistlecairn etc...sounds somewhat exotic but familiar at the same time...imho, that is! Anyway, keep up the good work!
I wonder why the sov has to be immortal. Why not have his offspring be channelers who can take his place? That would avoid alot of the need for awkward explanations of many topics. A lot of the charm of Master of Magic was that you actually were the channeler. You weren't an invisible hand guiding the empire over countless generations, like in Civ, but you were actually a person in the game. I think that added a

Everything sounds good to me... not that worried about multiplayer, either... a super random map generator...I usually go through the campaign once but my meat-and-potatoes is in the sandbox (tastes gritty but it'll wash off!) so as long as I can be playing years from now I'll be happy. Although, as a side note, I do like all the options of lots of races, etc...but I can wait. Baby steps to the Beta 3 [e digicons][/e]

It's good we all like the same things...last I heard Steve Barcia was working for a console company, which makes me sad. Anyone remember a game SimTex was trying to do called MechLords? I think that would have been awesome as well, but the FASA gang hit them with some kind of suit saying things resembled BattleTech too closely, which was pretty funny since they stole so much of their IP from the Japanese. Too bad they didn't have a little more tolerance or foresight because if Me
The magic system of MOM is great, the dev should copy a lot of aspects from MOM. While amage type is related to magic system, it is also a separate enitity. They are not mutually exclusive.
I agree. I would prefer not limiting it to the four elements...White/Black magic or Holy/Unholy tossed into the mix makes for lots of variation (and fun!) although it is a lot more work! I know I keep beatin

So far, so good. I just got an email from P'ing T'tung, Taiwan asking for a copy of my car's registration...do I send it c.o.d.?
