Congratulations, Cari. Motherhood is THE most important job in the world (more so these days that it is being so much neglected...). Hats off to all women who, like you, decide to focus on it. Now go ahead and raise the next generation of top developers!
I agree 100% with this message.

Fantastic game (Eador: Genesis), I put in about 40 hours over my three day weekend (If you include Thur night after work). I am at the point where I don't lose more then half the games.
As great as that sounds.. its not as if the gaming industry is an island. These attitudes etc are things that permeate society. That certainly doesn't justify it, but does allude to the larger issue that no amount of changes in the game industry itself are going to solve. I mean its all great to discuss a perfect world, but "reality bites" and the game industry does, and will continue to reflect the society it belongs to. <br /
AoW Shadow magic is the worst AoW ever made. It was actually bad. AoW2 is best followed by AoW1
Correct me if I'm wrong but AoW:SM was a stand alone sequel to AoW2 that was just AoW2 with bug fixes, a third plane, new units, and a new campain. Why did you dislike AoW:SM and think AoW was better? Sammual
If anyone has Warlock but is no longer challenged by the game try the Armageddon DLC. The new game mode will force you to react to events. You just can't brute force your way through with only 4 tricked out units. You have to defend your cities and help the AI deal with the new invaders unless you want to be swampped by waves of units each more powerfull then your greatest hero. A few hints on the new game mode. 1) Help the AI with Gates t
I don't think you can sweep the opinions of the majority under the rug and argue that it's all just "nostalgia". Yes it had horrible AI and many bugs. But it certainly got a lot of other things right that FE can learn from so it's certainly reasonable to compare. Some truths to consider: 1. The game despite the issues had fans who bothered to set up tribute pages that can be seen to this day and who bothered to ma
Master of Magic is good, but not great.
Agreed. MoM is good. MoM was great in it's day. That day is long past.
The system that MoM set up was great: cities, troops, heroes, spells, items, etc. Building the next level X to get the better unit was fun. Finding the great hero was fun. Creating that sword you really need was particularly awesome IMHO. In addition, I found that the subsystems all worked together very well. Fur
The biggest UI bugaboo I have with FE right now is how hard it is to get rid of city enchantments and unit enchantments.
We have been trained to look for a little X icon in the upper right corner. Add a border around the name of each enchantment on the Unit / City details screen with a little X icon in the upper right of the border.
Although it's fun and I'm certainly buying it, MoM-like it ain't. It's been simplified too much to bear much resemblance to other 4x games of this ilk like AoW or MoM (or FE for that matter).
I agree that they stripped it down to the bone but I believe it is still very MoM-like. There is a demo out. Try it. If you liked Master of Magic, Civ V, or the FE Beta it will be worth your time to play the demo even if you decide not to spend $19.99 on the game.
Sorry gang, I decided to not allow our next two titles to be available at retail (Sins rebellion and Fallen Enchantress). The cost/benefit ratio just isn’t there at this time. It is cool to tell people your game is at the store. But as a business, until the retailers adapt, it doesn’t make sense to deal with them at this point.
PC Game Retail is currently a joke.
I own Civ5, like it, and think 1UPT is a interesting system that adds a lot of strategy. That said Civ5 has a lot of flaws. 1. Plainly ridiculously bad tactical AI. 2. Bad Pacing. 3. It's way to hard to conquer cities. 4. It's way to easy to city spam 5. It's broken on a competitive level. This site chronicles the problems that competitive players have well. [/quote

My combat options are determined like this; Step 1 - Rank the enemy units by threat (How much damage they can do to any of my units that will be in range when they get an action). Step 2 - Can the current unit kill the highest Ranked enemy? Loop through the whole threat list until I get a yes or get to the end. If I get a Yes, kill that unit. Step 3 - Can the current unit cast an AoE spell? - AoE them. Step 4 - Can the cur
Same here. The tech levels for this line are one level off. The first level does nothing and you can't recruit the highest levels at all.
With an accuracy of 70 I hit between 1 and 3 times. It is going down by a lot more then 3.
I would like to be able to use AoE spells with my units in the way. (Do I get XP for killing my units with the spell?)
I figured this one out today. Your whole army can only have 1 spell being cast at a time. If the unit casting the spell is hit, it is canceled. If another unit casts a spell with a charge time both spells are canceled.

Do we have anyone who can act as team captain?
Who wants to get together and form a Stardock team? We need between 5 and 50 players and a team captain. I want to play but do not have time to captain a team. Search 'Civilization World' on Facebook for more information. Sammual
