ANY official word would be nice. Looking back, i've been following this game since Jan. 23rd, 2006 i believe. Would love to hear that it hasn't been canceled and even better, possible news about beta testing and how they will go about this...

They said it was years away from completion...but that was years ago. I think they're way overdue for an update. I haven't even seen this game mentioned in updates from Stardock. My guess is that the game has been scrapped. I'm thinking the same thing, sadly. Would love to get an update...even if it's an unofficial word about the game being canceled or something.
I recently sold my DS Lite for the PSP Slim. Best thing i've done in a while. The games are great, especially the graphics which were one of the drawbacks for the DS for me. The ability to browse the web, listen to music, watch videos, and view photos...plenty of reason to get a PSP aside from gaming
Seems like no one has bothered posting screens or even an update as to the status of this game. I really hope it hasn't been canceled...
Do the devs or anyone from Stardock still read these forums? Would love to get an update on the games status. As poss can show, i've been following this game for i believe 2 years now, still eagerly awaiting its release (or the beta )
I was so hyped for this game back in late 2005/early 2006 and it just seems like the more time that passes, the longer the game is from release At this rate, I'll probably have lost complete interest from the lack of updates and time passing.
That's a MS blog...very reliable
I loved the FFXII demo included with Dragon Quest VIII. And Famatsui (sp?) gave FFXII a perfect score (Japanese version) of 40/40...so things can only improve for the U.S. release which is receiving a few visual upgrades and other such items. I cant wait...if only it were $39.99
I just wish i had a computer that could run Neverwinter Nights 2. At least i have the Diamond edition of NWN
Out of curiosity, what is the SiS 650 chipset equal to? Like a Geforce 1?, 2?
I'll keep this short and simple :P Please make sure that Society supports built-in graphics. For some reason, Dell thinks its a great idea to sell their desktops and laptops with Intel built-in graphics like the SiS M650. Thats what i have, and it can handle Warcraft 3, Need For Speed Underground 1, and even Civilization 3...which surprised me :P But its the games that require H&L lighting (i think thats what it is) that crush my dreams. So please, keep those of us who dont have t
Well, personally, free always sells better. And if marketed right (totalgaming.net, gamespot.com, wincustomize.com, etc) im sure it would be a big hit very fast. I'd much rather see this, though my opinion is a bit biased. Though, i would defintely settle with a beta.
I was thinking about this and what if anyone that bought the retail version automatically got the premium account at a discount? Rather than say $10 a month, it would only be $5 a month? Just throwing numbers out there, but i just hope that the extra features wont give the premium accounts too much of an advantage. Its good to hear that the game will be free no matter what. As a college student, i have enough bills as it is, so free is always good. Now...here is the $64,
I really hope that those of us who have been following this game for over a year now get the opportunity to beta test Society. The more i hear about this game, the more eager i am to play it.
Penalizing is hard. But while playing other games (anyone play Utopia?) i've thought about how to 'protect' new players who dont put in as much time. Simply put, its a 'cap'. Players can only attack other players who are between 75% - 125% of their networth/size/whatever. This would mean that new players would be vulnerable to players who started recently, but this could easily be countered by having the new player build up their defense while in a protection phase. There will be
Now, i heard/read that subscribers will have the first chances to beta test Society later this year. Now, if this is true, would there be any chance that a select few who have been following the game since very early 2005 would be able to get on the beta as well? The more i read about Society, the more i want to play it (and improve it if possible). Either way, keep us posted, new screens are always welcomed <img src="http://images.stardock.com/Society/smiles/Wink.gif" border=0 ALIG
Im thinking its been set on the back burner
Perhaps set it up so that people are automatically logge dout after say 2 hours of being on straight? Just a simple message saying you need to log back in, you've been on for 2 hours...
So yeah, less then 3 hours from now and Sony will be kicking off E3 with their Pre-E3 press conference. But nevermind that, is Stardock going to be there showing any of their games off?
Im really excited about this game, but i really think a 1 year beta (to subscribers only) would be bad marketing. I dont own any stardock product, used to used windowblinds (free version) but have since gone to the uxthemepatcher to save a few resources.
So, say your in war, rather then the normal offline AI, the one you appoint would be more war-minded?
I think it was subscribers will get the beta first...still, i wouldnt mind paying for the game and then having free online play. Though, a free download and free online play woudl be even better
I heard that it will be free...not sure how true this will be. To elaborate on that, i read a preview many months ago that said the game would be free, but users who paid for a subscription or something woudl be able to use their own textures and such...
Well, im not very religious, but i can see the benefits of having religion in Society. If your people are united under 1 religion then things should be smooth sailing. However, if your people are divided...and lets say war were to come, i could see people who believe in 1 religion fighting while those who believe in another religion feel the war is 'unnecessary'...
Wow, i shoudl really proof read before posting Anyway, hop that made sense.
