It's looking good :). Quick question, will the beta be availble to download from Stardock's site or will I need to reinstall impulse? Really looking forward to FE and hope everything works out well for Stardock in the coming months.

Maybe my memory is failing me here, but wasn't it Gamestop who caused Stardock problems with Demigod by allowing people to buy it before the servers were ready? If so, then I imagine, Brad required some convincing before he sold impulse to them. I can understand WhiteElks caution. The PC gaming market at the moment, is in my opinion, very consumer unfriendly. I am very wary about picking up games these days for the PC. Given the fact that there are no refunds
I too seem to be one of the few who have found Elemental WOM fun from the beginning. Then again I also find Dragon Age 2 fun, and lots of people apparrently hate it, so maybe I am strange. Oh well each to their own :-). Personally I'm hoping that Stardock will eventually start working on Galactic Civ 3 :), but that has nothing to do with this topic so I'll stop rambling now :).
Quoting psychoak, reply 66 The Frog has basically dismissed modding as a mover of sales repeatedly, considering it a wasted investment fiscally. Modding can definately move sales of expansions, but modders first and foremost require an audience, or else they won't mod. If Kael can put together a functional game out this, its likely the community will grow to a point where the mods are a big part of the value.
&
They already said they were going to put TACTICAL battles into the MP version of the game, why are you till whining about this? It isn't going to be right now but sometime in the future, so stop complaining and be patient.
I missed have missed where they said that. Thanks for letting us know :). Cheers, Raven
Thanks Kryo, I was sure I'd read that somewhere here, but my memory isn't the best these days.
Just to confirm this extra DLC will eventually be available to everyone who owns the game yes? I ask because down here in New Zealand we don't have Walmart or the other store (whose name escapes me atm).
Like Alstein, I don't agree with the tone of Mercestes's post, but I do agree with some of the points he makes. Mutliplayer needs to have the option of tactical battles, it also needs to have the option of more victory conditions outside of plain conquest. Also more maps need to be supported. The creator of the multiplayer game should be given the opti
At the risk of making a HUGE error, I ask here in the newbie section. Is it safe to purchase this game now? I've been a long time, background supporter of Stardock, since early desktop program days, and have always been proud of the dedication and integrity that the studio stood with. Obviously, things have faltered with Elem. It "looks" promising. I WANT to support them with another game purchase. But I DON'T want to buy a piece of drek. Is this ga
@Fearzone by turn 200 I'm lucky if I have two cities build, and I'm struggling to come up with materials to buy unit's, buildings, etc. How do you manage to launch an invasion force so fast? I'm not trying to be snarky, I seriously want to know as I view my slowness as being a weakness in my gameplay. Cheers, Raven
I've been doing a lot of thinking about the Diplomacy mechanisms in Elemental of late. Whilst they are functional and works, it could in my opinion use a little work. Now I know that Brad and Stardock have their hands full with the AI for 1.1, so this is more along the lines of feedback and suggestions. I have no idea how hard it would be to code in, or even if it were possible to do with Elemental's game engine. What I'm try to say (clumsly) is that this isn't a demand, mor
Play large map sizes and restart the game if the AI spawns too close to you. For example on Tiny maps I play one AI, on small I play 2, on medium I play 3 and on Huge I play 4. I like to take my time slowly getting my empire set up, and as such most of the time if the AI spawns right next to me (even if it's my own faction) it will declare war. Sometimes I don't restart, and kick it's butt, other times I just restart the map. Or you can do as random_target sugges
I agree with the other posters here. With the current resource system, it's too random and can get very frustrating, even with the resource unlocking tech's. Having the amount of resources available in the world as a slider would be a great idea. Cheers, Raven
Ok I'm going from memory here and it's late at night so I may get this wrong. Apologies in advance. From what I can remember there are two parts to this mission. Part A. You need to warn a group of people, Lord Markinn is just one of them, so you have to split your forces up. The force that goes warning the different rulers unlocks boats. This leads into part two Part two requres you to explore the desert until you get to the unpassable gate. In the mean time your other fo

Actually now I am awake (never post whilst medicated) I can see that my system is different. What was I ment to say was that I can run the game at 1920x1200 with AA and shadows turned off and not have any problems at all other then the ocassional CTD. That's what I get for posting when tired, late at night.
It does, but for thoses of us who don't have the limited edition a printalbe version of the Heirgamenon (the tech trees I mean :) )in PDF form would be great :). I printed it out by turning off the backgrounds in Firefox, but unfortunately the first page of each tech tree is obscured by a web banner that can't be removed. Regards, Raven
So Why was this half baked dog turd released without a tutorial? Guess I will get Civ 5 and clean this junk off my hard disk. I would love to be included in the beta test but I'm not very technically minded. That said if you want player feedback from a casual game on gameplay then I'd be more than happy to help out. One quick question, would it be possible to have the beta client installed seperately from the non beta client? My wife and I tend to play Elemental multiplayer and I don't want to stop gaming with her in the non-beta version of the game. Cheers, <
I agree 100% with the OP. Elemental is a lot of fun to play and just keeps getting better every patch. Kudo's to Stardock for all the hardwork they've put into improving this game.
Interesting ideas ElanaAhova. I'd say that at the very least troops would need to be garrisoned nearby. That's one of the things that made it so frustrating, I had troops garrisoned close by, and they easily defeated the mobs, but only after the mobs had destroyed an improvement, caravan, etc. Maybe a building like a signal flare, or troops that could be placed as escorts for caravans would work as well :).
Actually you may want to give a 1.09 game a try. Stardock's done a good job in fixing the game up since it's been released.
Hi All, Having a blast playing Elemental on a huge map at the moment. Something occured to me during this game, a feature that Civ IV has, that I think would be nice if Elemental had as a well. Basically it's a warning system to alert the player that a enemy has been spotted at a certain location. That way the player can quickly marshel their troops to deal with the threat before any real damage is done. I've lost a few outposts, caravans, and city improveme
