That's 30 seconds of my life I'll never get back (without a time machine).

Have to add my voice to those who were disappointed. I really love the first two, #2 in particular, and this was not up to snuff. It wasn't a bad movie by any means, but it wasn't great and it certainly wasn't a proper Mad Max movie. I'm not saying that because Furiosa stole the show, I'm fine with that, and I thought Theron was great. But the movie was missing many things that make a proper Mad Max movie, and it was basically just a 2 hour long h

[quote who="Frogboy" reply="24" id="3555591"] With SK or any game I can see someone playing many hours trying to love it and just not doing so. I'm ok with that. But to go onto the Steam review page and give it a down vote? Sorry, I think that's an incredible dick move. I don't care what your justification is, if you've played a game 50+ hours you got your money's worth. It would be like me watching a movie 5 times and then going onto IMD

On a more serious note though, Steam statistics aren't reliable. I often leave games running for days on end, sneaking in a few minutes of play here and there. The discrepancy between how much time Steam thinks I've been playing a game and how much I actually have is often quite massive.

Yeah, there's no distinction in CK2 between minor characters and major ones, they're all playing the same game by the same rules. That little twerp with 1 holding in some remote part of the map is still conducting diplomacy, scheming for power. building improvements, raising armies, etc. and he can grow to rule all of Europe. Same goes for EU. There are no minor nations, just nations with less territory than others. They all play by the same rules, and can gr

I don't have much of an opinion on this - I almost never use mods, and hate it when devs tout it as a major feature of their game that it will soon be populated with content from random players. I did come across this article though, so I thought I'd link it: http://www.forbes.com/sites/insertcoin/2015/04/24/valves-paid-skyrim-mods-are-a-legal-et

[quote who="Chibiabos" reply="8" id="3528230"] Quoting Borg999, reply 3 I really enjoyed SC2K, 3k was OK, but after that it was a death spiral. What's really sad, is that the next most popular city builder Cities XL/XXL is so oversimplified and dumbed down, it can't even compare favorably to SC2k, except

This thread reminds me of two dogs chasing each other's tail. Both parties are convinced they're accomplishing something of utmost importance, while actually accomplishing absolutely nothing of consequence. Eventually they exhaust themselves and collapse on the floor. Then, just when we think they've tired of the pointless behaviour, one of them leaps up and lunges at the other, and off they go again.

All part of the recent trend to shove more and more advertising in people's faces for a quick buck. Samsung got busted for their TVs inserting ads into your locally streamed content . Their response? "It was just a mistake, that feature got turned on by accident." What wasn't an accident was writing the code to do it in the first place. h

Well, for me it all boils down to one thing: I always view strategy games as existing on a scale, with "Boardgame-like" on one end and "Simulation-like" on the other. Boardgame-like Construct a highly optimized set of tight gameplay rules Design every decision the player must make to carry weight, with no single obviously correct choice Do not include game mechanics which don't contribute significantly to the above <
