If the spells don't fit any particular book- one idea would be to put them in goodie huts occasionally, level-appropiate. Blood Curse would need to be toned down- 1000hp mages would be gamewinning on its own, no matter the econ cost.
Elemental has demons, dragons, drath, etc. that one can research up to. That said, I think there's a real pacing issue that needs to be addressed in the future. I am not convinced that we need 5 different tech trees. I could almost imagine it broken down to 3 like: Civilization Lore Magic where Warfare, Diplomacy, Adventure and Magic get split into these areas. O
It's staged. Now it's being uploaded to the hundreds of servers worldwide.
Curious- hundreds of servers? I thought you had only 2 servers, both in the US? I know some Euros have claimed you guys are pretty slow compared to GG, when I get the reverse effect in the US.
I say all these spells should be winners.
I think some of the problem is early game weapons are OP. Oak spears and warstaffs especially. I'd also like to see an interection between weapons, kinda like what was done in Civ IV. Makes perfect sense in Elemental Unsure what the actual relationships should be, and if we did this, we'd need to add polearms like glaives into the game.
I don't think that not doing what I say on this is going to make Elemental a bad game, so I'm not going to be mad at people disagreeing with me. It just proves that some, perhaps many people think otherwise. I just feel it adds some tedium without helping the game. If this is kept in with individual pieces- I'd love to see a completely revamped and complicated combat mechanism where you get to target individual body parts. That would b
It's real simple to thwart this, just don't GRUNT RUSH stupid. Very simple to make one easy house rule. Don't attack anybody for 100 turns or an amount of turns deemed fair to the ai to give it an opportunity to grow.
Those rules just turn things into a turn 101 rush.
I understand why many of you guys don't like it- but what is the gameplay benefit? Elemental needs more choices in some areas- but I really don't think this is one of those areas. (I did not expect this to be a majority opinion) You'd still have PLENTY of choices- rings, amulets, shields, weapons (shields+weapons is an area where we need more choices, not light plate vs heavy plate armlets) Another advantage is that this would make thi
I suspected some unpopularity with this request. Seriously question- how many times have you not just bought the full suit? Oh- one little in-joke I'd like to see- turn the shopkeeper girl into Recette.
So it's 1.1 1.2 then expansions?
Through 500-600 turns. Figured with all the crash logs I've sent, might as well send in a good news report. That said, the game was starting to chug a bit at the end, so I suspect some memory leaks are still out there. One suggestion: eliminate armlets/cuirasses/helms/legplates and consolidate all that into suits of armor. People don't mix and match pieces much, and having individual pieces making scrolling down in the shop
I agree, but some of this balance stuff can wait for a 1.2, along with the known issues (which do need to be fixed after 1.1)
Quoting Werewindlefr, reply 8Is a fix to the "roaming monsters not spawning mid-game" in the work ? And is the ability to cancel treaties something that will be added post-1.1, or is it still something that can slip under the lockdown ? We don't know the cause of that. We haven't been able to reproduce here (it isn't simply that monsters don't spawn in the late game). We did have a player here that
Future Features= not in 1.1 right?
They need to be recruitable heroes as well.
Lot of good stuff. Yet on the consoles, only things I'd be looking at is the new MK, and any 3d fighters. (pretty much all I own a console for is fighting games anymore, and they've been lackluster this gen)
Quoting Nenjin, reply 128Frogboy, do you guys include polish and cleanliness with "stability?" Because I think that's almost two separate conversations. Stability wise, it's almost there. Polish wise, it has a way to go IMO. Each update will continue to polish the game and so on. But that's not a go, no-go issue on releasing a particular update as long as it hasn't regressed.
While I seem to be
Does anyone have their city names randomly change, though they change back once you build something in the city? It seems to be just a cosmetic bug, The city colors always change to yellow, which I assume is the name of a neutral city. If needbe tonight I can play a game and replicate this, though it takes a while for this to start happening, and it's happening more rarely in the later patches.
Agreed here strongly.
Figured out what my issue was earlier, I was looking in wrong folder. Debug, save game, and dump file in links http://dl.dropbox.com/u/6609288/Elemental/AutoSave.EleSav http://dl.dropbox.com/u/6609288/Elemental/debug.err <a href="http://dl.dropbox.com/u/6609288/Elemental/Elemental1_09v-2010-12-13T04-07-28-538.z
Oak Spears should be nerfed , along with Warstaffs I believe. That said, for the expansion I'd like to see equipment restandardized, with modifiers vs certain troop types. Maybe something like one of the Civ mods where Axes get bonus vs Spear which get bonus vs Cav, etc...
Ok, I can't do that until tomorrow morning due to not having laptop. (On a 8 yr old laptop now- barely plays GCII these days) Will do so in future. Edit: checked in there, nothing.
Debug file should be the second link. I don't have my laptop that can play Elemental on me right now, so that won't help. does that need to be online for dropbox to work? The crash happened at the start of a turn, when the "produces nothing screen" occured. My autosave is set to every 4 turns I believe, I need to reduce that to one for crash bugs, will try to remember to do that when I get to work tonight.
Just ran into a crash about 2,500 turns earlier. ^_^ Posted it up. Crashes are getting rarer and rarer, I think they're in the acceptable range, but I'm a little more tolerant then most on this. I'll consider this ready when I can play 1,000 turns in a day and not crash once. It's gone from around 8-9 crashes per to around 1-2.
Situation: just researched Navies, one of my cities had the building nothing message Debug and autosave http://dl.dropbox.com/u/6609288/Elemental/AutoSave.EleSav http://dl.dropbox.com/u/6609288/Elemental/debug.err
