It's a hilarious thought that a game would "get deeper" by stealing ideas from WOW (which is the definition of casual) but in this case, it may actually make sense. =P D2 really was a simple Hack&Slash affair where you could hardly do anything in a wrong way. I'm not so sure if the "potion nerf" is a good thing. In the more recent Diablo clones, red/blue pots typically worked as a heal over time so once you had it going, that was checked off. Your abili

If we're representing that the same dudes go back into the force, each individual person's XP should be stored, and people with the most should be recruited first. Then the XP for large groups should be averaged, with no unit having less XP than the level you selected before training. This has the flaws that it's a very fiddly system on the users end, and that it would probably be

Yah, but I think relying on jewelry too much reduces the system to a grey soup where you pick the Cool Jewely Set Nr. 2 plus one generic weapon - which is made into a super weapon by the jewelry. That's not very stylish . To me, jewelry should be more along the lines of "charms and amulets". Not a source of raw attack power or armor class but rather "soft" stats. Faster healing, luck in avoiding blows (dodge), faster recovery of endurance or mana, better luck in hitt
Err, why does it matter if the factions in WOM are technically different races? In the 4x genre, races are typically ones like Klackons, Draconians, and humans. They look and "work" vastly differently. In WOM, all the factions look like Human Mk.1 and the gameplay differences between them are very very small. They don't even have different ear shapes like in Star Trek. =P Calling them different races seems presumptious because it implies a far great
We'll be selling the armor for horses as a separate $9.95 purchase so we can't really combine the horse AND the armor.
That's not really a new idea. In Everquest you can buy warhorses (with their armor being the only difference to other horses there) with "marketplace points". Since you buy those points with real cash, yeah - you buy horse armor for cash. =P
Personally, I don't buy the "different race" line. Factions, sure. But with all the inter-racial marriages in game, apparently every combination can produce offspring which are in turn perfectly fertile and compatible. Different races? I think not.
Not yet. 1.1 will be a lot more "complete" and if you're into TB empire building, you'll probably like it. Atm it's like playing in a construction site. Sure, it's fun to some but the doors don't work and there's no floor paneling...
It wouldn't be necessary to touch the low level functions such as gfx display. In fact, access on that level would create instability and even security issues... Being able to fully alter / access / alter the UI and game logic is really all it takes. In many "modable" games there are just too many brick walls and insufficient access to the UI so you get too many crude workarounds. In WOM modders can already insert custom variables to units and such and use them in calcu

Nah, he said "do not represent 1/10000 of total customers" so the number could be higher or lower, but not equal to 1/10000. Effectively it most likely doesn't mean what he thinks it means. However, logic dictates that the sales had started at zero and began climbing so even the unlikely condition had been true at one point. Correct would have been: "so the small portion of merely forum members may or may n
Back when it was new it was in such a sorry shape that I skipped it entirely. With regret, but I did. Since then it got modded to hell, fixing virtually all bugs... so the download is running in the background. =) Man, and I was just getting started freeing Arulco again and had acquired G3A1 with 7x scopes for both of my snipers. The more I think about it, the more I'm leaning towards a different implementation of the ZOC rules.
