That's why there is that cliché of North Americans not caring about what happens outside the US borders. =)

What's there to say about Syndicate...? Satellite Reign - Kickstarter <img src="http://www.kicktraq.com/projects/5livess
A fixed seed wouldn't help with that because you can always "spin the wheel" by using any other unit to force a random roll. If you want to limit an ability, limit the ability . Tame has a cap in deadliness, level, or whatever works. If a monster is above the cap - no chance to tame it. Below the cap there is a reasonable chance to tame something. For monsters above the the cap <stron
Like the OP says - why not tie stats / equipment of militia to city type and buildings in the city? With a war college, smithy, and adamantium mine, those might be some pretty hardcore defenders. A mercantile city with markets and banks would have mercenaries. A conclave magically skilled / buffed or additional summoned troops. -> The more advanced the city, the more badass the defenders... but in a way that makes sense. =)
BTW: Magic Carpet 2 found it's way to GOG.com. Now that took a while. The user ratings speak for themselves. =)
100 bucks? Not likely. But I would buy it full price, something I try to avoid nowadays. I actually thought Elemental would be a MoM-like game and bought it more or less blind. Imagine my surprise when there was only a single playable race in the game. (dark / light / gray / whatever colour humans) MoM was vibrant with crazy and fantastic races. I can only guess that Stardock wanted to keep the modeling costs in check by using a single model for all but a handful
Are there enough people who want Stardock to keep making fantasy strategy games of this type to justify that effort?
I can only speak for myself but I don't want another Elemental but rather a re-imagining of MoM. Not an exact copy, though, given how broken the game balance (and partially the AI) was in MoM. =)
Apparently the End Of The World was launched on schedule... but the servers overloaded and crashed immediately. Mayabe next time...
Yes, it has the graphical implementation - just none of the gameplay. (I bought it by accident, thinking it's a god game) From Dust is a puzzle game. If you don't click the right "powers" in the right order, you lose and have to replay the level. If you do click them in the right order, you get the cutscene and proceed to the next level.
No way! Everyone knows that you can't have on-the-fly terrain modification in a modern game. Using fireballs to create craters, watching water flow into them... nah. It's not done. It has to be a trick.
I turn them off on the monsters because, well, I really don’t need an icon to tell me that it’s a monster.
Might just need smaller icons for monsters / units because some might be hard to spot physically from that altitude.
Do these bandits have some sort of backstabbing ability?
Aside from the more esoteric aspects of Steam being good or evil, a lot of Steam hate stems from being ignorant about how it works. Once I learned how to install "Steam" games from disc, how and when to use the offline mode, and how to deal with the Steam cloud (aka turn it off), Steam wasn't quite so evil any more. Knowing how to use a piece of software goes a long way. =) True, it feels odd that a retailer has the right to disown you any time they damn plea
I had some reservations due to the Titan Quest connection. I found TQ rather bland and boring, never-changing button-mashing without any challenge whatsoever. Uninstalled it during the 2nd world / act. Then I got talking with one of the GD devs who had basically the exact same opinion! The plan is to make Grim Dawn more "involved", so it actually matters what active skills you use. Within reason. Not all classes will be so dependant on active skills, creating actual
I decided to not allow our next two titles to be available at retail (Sins rebellion and Fallen Enchantress). The cost/benefit ratio just isn’t there at this time.
What about... a print-yourself PDF with a "paper model" box. Like this. You print it on carboard and glue it together. Instand downloadable game box for the game shelf. =P
Nekro Mix of Overlord (closest IMO), Dungeon Keeper and Diablo 2. There are gawdawfully few games where you can root for evil. =P It's not quite done, yet, but you get it for 15 bucks, so I guess it qualifies for bargain. It's "working" as an alpha but lots of content is left to do... and content costs money because good artists work for a living - not for free. =)
Heh. It's not just an "influence". The Wasteland team made Fallout 1 + 2 because the company didn't happen to have the rights to "Wasteland" at the time. =P
It has the same core people so I expect it to be engaging, deep, and flexible. Details like how the interface will look aren't set in stone. With the budget they are going to be rolling, it can have a lot of content and be pretty . Won't have cutscenes, though. These cost a lot of money to make and they present a serious roadblock when situations have many possible solutions. When you are sent to save the princess in the average CRPG, your only op
Brian Fargo has "got the band back together". He got the licence to Wasteland 2 from EA. The project has hit the minimum funding point of 900 grand... after 42 hours out of 30some days. In short - it's a go. There will be a Wasteland 2, about 25 years after the release of the original! Additional funds never hurt, though, and all of it is going towards more content, more pl
IMO, it's the best single player shooter on the market. Multiplayer? Do not want. Really looking forward to BL2.

In my experience (though I'm interested to hear the play test results from the community) both methods work well. I don't like your proposal because it allows people to twink their trained units (throw them in an army with a bunch of champions and let them level up fast).
Why not distribute XP based on level? Tally up all X
If you don't get hit, the number of turns is irrelevant. Whether you shoot once every one or three turns... same result.
2. Alter shard: the spell changes the shard to a chosen type
The only real exploit I could imagine would be to quickly change several shards to another type, cast a particular spell, then change your shards to the next planned spell. That one is trivially easy to stop, though. When you cast your Alter Shard, you create a "being built" shard building. It takes a long time to build. Time, during which the under-construction shard does n

Ergo, any increase in (sofware) piracy helps us battle global warming.
