By the way, it's about 18min or so...a little on the long side, so watch it when you have the time.

I'm always impressed when I watch a talk about education on TED, but here is one with a business twist that I think is worth watching, if you haven't already...just putting this out there for anyone on these boards that may be interested. It involves scientific studies about motivation and creativity and how it relates to problem solving in a business setting. Enjoy... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rrkrvAUbU9Y </p
Since the beta version isn't even out yet, I'll go with Soon®. (Seriously, people need to knock this nonsense off. It'll be done when it's done, and constant pestering about it will only serve to convince them to not give any kind of estimate in the future. )
I'm sorry for getting on your nerves, but I don't make it my life to keep track of a silly game. I check on it here and there, and post rarely. So no nee
Any estimate on when v1.1 will be released? How long has it been now?...about a month or so? I know they had hopes of getting it out by the end of Oct. but realistically Nov. I know it's early November, but what's it going to be? a week? 2 weeks? I'm just getting a little tired of waiting, but clinging on to patience.
I like the tactical battles. Not for what they are currently, but for what they seem to be evolving into. I think the suggestions about them already gained is on track. But I think, in addition to the auto resolve, you put into action a "movie" style spectator battle mode like GalCiv2 had. Sometimes I am not in the mood to go step by step through a battle, but still want to see the eye candy and hear the sounds. A "spectator" battle mode would be a nice added flavor for

I would say it is stable enough to have a "good time" playing. It will get much better as time goes by. If you know that you will eventually buy it when it is fixed, but BEFORE a price drop, then you may as well get it now and enjoy the freebe's Stardock is handing out for the "faithful" willing to endure a little hick-up here and there until it is polished. That's why I bought it anyway.
Yes, I agree. ROT3K was very complex, but then again...I think the AI was pretty dumb. I also think it was one of those TBS that used a "cheating" mechanic to ramp up the difficulty on harder settings. One of the best things I like about Stardock games is Frog's commitment to making an AI that doesn't "cheat" to be "harder". It pays off in the long run on replayability. I found a newer version of ROT3K on D2D for about 20 bucks, but I'm not messing with it for a long wh
I've made this comment in another thread just as a footnote of interest. I was wondering how many others here have played Romance of the Three Kingdoms strategy games? Great series on China mythology that lives on in Dynasty Warriors games and so on for the console boxes. I still get chills when I think of names like Zhang Fei and Guan Yu!...good stuff. The TBS was great and if memory serves the last one they made was ROT3K 11? or maybe 10?... Any other fans out there?<
That's basiclly it, as in the title of the post. I've noticed this in the past 2 games I've bothered to cast it. Dell Inspiron Desktop, 2.4 Q6600 quadcore cpu, 4GM ram, Nvidia 8600 GT 256mb vidcard.(hoping "Santa" brings me a 9600 GT 512mb to replace it)
In some ways, the "hook" that gets me about this game reminds me a lot of the Romance of the Three Kingdoms games.(aka ROT3K series of TBS) The idea of recruiting "heroes", or in ROT3K "generals", is a cool element. I'm always wondering who I'll see next to try and recruit into the fold. I've just figured out the whole dynasty thing, only to have the game crash on it, but I like that also. I've not had kids yet to see how they work, but am looking forward to it. ROT3K had "chi
I did have a scout on auto explore. I bet that was it. Thank you, and keep up the good work!
It is turn 152 in my first game and it will not advance any more turns. The game is still able to load and I can scroll and view things. It's not totally locked up, nor have I seen a error message, but it won't go any further either. The "next turn" button is not responding. My system...Q6600 2.4 cpu, 4GM RAM, Nvidia 8600 GT 256MB vidcard, and Vista 32bit OS with video drivers updated as recently as about 2-3 weeks ago. hope it helps.

Not as robust as your suggesting though, I'm sure...but it's not like t
I have a Dell Q6600 2.4 cpu, 4GB of RAM, and a modest Nvidia 8600 GT card...I have gotten one crash in tact battle, but I am waiting to see if it happens again to post a bug on it. I agree that the game is a little "rough" in a way, but it certainly does feel like a "sleeping giant" of a success soon to happen when it is fully patched up! I just got it yesterday, and have only had time to play maybe 3 hours on it leaning the game, but it's one nic
I spent a good part of this Saturday(today) watching a guy's video's going through a game on Youtube. He goes by the alias, Tengill on that site. Here is this link to his channel... http://www.youtube.com/user/TENGILL He is from Sweden, and a slow talker(in English anyway), but I found his detailed run through of a sandbox game very enlightening! He did many vid's and most are about 15min e

I wasn't in on the beta, myself, so I can't judge either way as to the quality of the dev fixes in response to the tester input. Nor can I judge the the quality of the input from most testers, as I know from experience that many times people

I can't believe how critical some of these posters have been. Isn't it a little like beating a dead horse by now? The whole focus of this thread, for me, was simple...accountability and integrity. Brad isn't making excuses, and dodging anything. He is basicly saying "I am responsible for the project, so it all falls on me, ultimately. I messed up, but will fix it." Do you have any idea how rare it is for someone to, not only take full responsibility for a "train wreck",
I think I just got my first "man crush" over Brad Wardell! Speaking just for myself, although I know I'm not alone, I tend to buy retail on computer games because I can use "cash" to pay for it. I do this once in a while when I want to splurge a little on myself without the wife knowing. [e digicons]O:)[/e]
