I'm amazed at how well the game holds up in 2012.
Outlander!
I don't plan to work on tactical AI until the decision comes down as to whether terrain is going to be added or not. I would like there to be terrain bonuses but there is concern that this could make tactical battles tedious for those (the vast majority) who don't care that much (yes, I know and the team knows that the people on the forums are very into tactical combat just like they are really into multiplayer). The magic is getting a lot more interesting, I can say tha
It's the same sound effect that's always been in there for that. Feel free to suggest a different one and I'll pass it on to Derek.
Should be this Thursday.
Soon. I'm going to start posting more stuff to my Tumbler page that I'm playing around with: http://draginol.tumblr.com/
I have not had any problems playing Sins Rebellion off line. When I demo it on media tours, I'm obviously not connected to the Internet. It's just a lone laptop. Steam just says "Would you like to go in off line mode" to which I say yes and off I go.
BTW, this causes some confusion from time to time but Draginol is an alias I use when I am writing blogs that are unrelated to Stardock. Sometimes I forget to relogon.
The whole Stardock gang took Friday off to go watch this. I'm a bit of a comic's nut. I'm the guy who spend $50+ a month on comic books so I very much enjoyed the Knightfall and other references and nods to different story arcs. I enjoyed the movie immensely and will likely be going back again. There was some troubling pacing and the usual frustration of "Oh come on, people with automatic weapons would solve this in a heart beat."
Thanks guys. I still do MS Project like chore lists for the kids and such but I've stopped making them write reports. :)
Probably early August now.
Ironically, there are ships in FE. You just can't build them yourself. But I say too much.
When your settlement moves from a village (level 1) to level 2 you can choose its specialization -- Town, Fortress, Conclave. That choice determines what types of improvements your city has available to it. A town's improvements focus around getting you zee money and making zee food for itself and your other cities. Fortresses are geared around producing really good soldiers and being really hard to conquer. Conclaves are all about maxim
[quote who="DsRaider" reply="181" id="3193103"]I don't think the people advocating fro mortal champions understand the consequences. 1. Champions would get pretty scarce once 1 or 2 have died. 2. You could only cope by never risking your champions. Champion levels would decrease significantly. 3. Winning a single battle against someone and killing 1-2 champions would mortally cripple them for the rest of the game. Bye bye magic. 4. The AI could
This is my AAR this week.
We dated the same ex, RND.
Outposts no longer get destroyed, they get captured. External resources get disabled when attacked but come back online after n turns (this is subject to internal play testing results).
That depends on you. Do you want Fallen Enchantress and the subsequent game or do you want to continue to utilize our own forums to attack us about a 2 year old game you didn't like? I can't promise you that you'll like Fallen Enchantress. After all, we though War of Magic was pretty good when we released it. You'd be shocked at what a combination of sleep deprivation and love of *making* a given game will do in terms of judging how good the ac
One thing that will have to be video-shown (i.e. a screenshot obviously can't show animation) is the new animation system in Beta 4. In Beta 3, animation has worked like in all Stardock games in the past - unit is moving West. If they turn around, they instantly turn around. When they stop moving, they instantly enter the stop animation. Animations were recorded at 24FPS also. But in Beta 4, the animation speed has been increased to 30FPS (hardware is better
Derek's Beta 4 post covers this best. But essentially, improvements now replace each other. So you won't see a study + school + library + university + whatever. Instead, you upgrade your research building into a better one and that replace it. In doing so, a player, at a glance, can just look at a city and tell how good that city is in research or money making or production or what have you. A city that would have used say 30 tiles in beta 3 would use around
Well, I reserve the right to simply give you a refund for WOM and send you on your way. I am sure there are other games that desperately need your expertise.
If you want to retain your posting rights on my forum you would do well to try to act a little less entitled. Say the word and your WOM purchase can be refunded. Your purchase of a video game you didn't like doesn't include the option of being able to heap abuse on us in our own forum (that would be more of a dlc thing).
There is no tie placement in beta 4. But cites do se more than 1 tile but far fewer than before. This is because we found it visually easier to tell what a given city was specializing on at a glance.
