Have you tried turning up the world difficulty? It's something I"m trying to balance with regards to the difficulty levels. You'd be surprised how small the margin is between the monsters being too tough and not enough on a given difficulty level.

For those of you modding, we have added a new type of game modifier called ChangeWorld. It requires code to be used to determine which world variable is being set. Example:
Map ChangeWorld 148 5
This sets variable index 148 to 5

It needs good balance and lots of lots of tuning to hit high score from rewievers.
It's not my call. However, the feedback we've gotten indicates that Beta 4 is substantially improved over beta 3. We'll have a better idea when Beta 5 hits. But I don't imagine a scenario

Here's a craptastic screenshot of the tile editor. You use this to make goodie huts and quest locations and other special things that you want on the map.

One quest I did gave me a spell called Levitate Self. It lets that unit and any units in its army walk anywhere (water, mountains, you name it).

I do like this on most quests, but will there some quests where a fail is a fail. I do like some quests that are not completable when you fail them, would this be an option with the xml coding for mods?
It all depends on how the quest is written. You can tell a quest that a defeat

Look at what I just made:
Counterstrike Set to strike on the anniversary of Curgen's death, a series of previously hidden redoubts opens up and releases a horde of Abominations onto the land. Beware. 0 Movies\Minicut_E

We've gone from debating whether units are glass canons to whether they're too tough. As for cities, the free defenders are there to defend against minor threats. They shouldn't be able to hold off an army on their own. I think of them as being like the police.

I am just concerned about how the game moving to Steam effects the EWOM beta entrants. The Game Stop move really had me spooked that I was going to be double billed to use a product I already purchased. Seems to be going smoothly but what happens when my next reinstall comes? Stardock, Gamestop or Steam . Can I use my EWOM Seria
