Brad, can you tell me if the setting that controls being unable to build logging camps and piers after snaking to woods and rivers is something controlled in the moddable xml, or something buried in the code?
Well, you could just turn off the option to place improvements.

You don't have XP do you?
I wonder if part of the reason it's playable with 1 unit has to do with the campaign? I agree it shouldn't be possible (otherwise the rest of the game isn't worthwhile), but it may need to be a post-1.0 issue since some of the changes are more radical.
I don't think a normal user (I know I can't do it) could play that way. There are certain exploits I can think of that allow this (troll charm for in
I want to give a shout out to our Windows XP beta testers. Thanks to your reports, we were able to track down that issue that was causing it to frequently crash on some Windows XP setups. As you can imagine, in 2012, it is difficult to replicate "real world" Windows XP systems. There's only so many uncles and aunts in the world to bother and after the...you know, "formatting" incident, I'm not allowed to visit. Should go out in tonight's build.
@Stevenaus, I have a pet peeve when people try to represent a feature request as a "bug fix". Let's stick to using the word "fix" for bugs please. :)
So in a given stamp, I can set specific quest locations and add in props?
I think so.
While I have my own lengthy wish list for tactical battles, which includes placement, I don't think this *feature* request could remotely be considered a "must have" prior to release. Personally, I'd put the ability to define how units will behave in battle above placement (i.e. aggressive vs. passive vs. flee). These are all things we'd like to look into along with things like rally points on the main map, units spawning ON the city tile (not outside the city to the

Just fixed this so that if they have unknown relations with you or their intelligence is below normal they won't do this.

I don't know what to say other than thank you. You guys are awesome.
You're on Windows 7 right? On Windows 7, with my GTX 560, it's amazing. But on Windows 8, I get sluggishness even at lower resolutions. The only other game I'm having this issue with is SWTOR (though to be fair, right now, I'm not playing a lot of games). But our other WIndows 8 machines it's perfectly normal. But the good news is, I think the issue is related. I just have no idea what's causing it. Same driver version on Windows 7 works great. &n
I remember back in the GalCiv I days, there was some utility that some people had that had a huge impact on the game and just our game (I forgot the reason). It was some sort of mouse utility. I haven't given up on this. On my Windows 8 box, I am having trouble with some of my games on my nVidia 560. And today I saw an article saying that Windows 8 has no affect on game performance but I'm having a huge issue. But in affect, I can sort of reproduce
That's a real bummer. I don't think there's anything more I can do here without a significant engine update. Do you two have the same video card by chance? The anti-aliasing thing is a good observation.
Thank you so much for taking the time to provide that feedback. While I don't agree with some of the requests you made, I certainly like seeing other points of view on the matter. The Troll lairs do indeed provide 1 essence in surrounding territory on purpose. I think there is a lot of food for thought here in terms of post-release directions to take. At this stage, we're focusing on remaining stability (mostly Windows XP at this stage), balance,
I have asked for more QA people be assigned to optimize for Windows XP. Thanks for the report.
No, it is that for all this time, there was a bug where the exp was read as an integer. So even though it says 2.9 previously, it was being read in as 2.
Is the issue seen in 0.980 and 0.981 where AIs say "You are dominating me +5" in diplomacy effects (even though they are much stronger and there are no wars) fixed?
Yes.

Not even remotely. I've talked, at some length, with the Civ 5 team on these issues. First, if you're playing on DirectX 10, you get the benefit of multithreaded rendering. But most importantly, every unit in FE has its own unique equipment that shows up i

I could write a whole blog on this but to make a long story short: Stardock is somewhat of a unique company. It is owned, 100% by me. This makes it a bit odd because what we do does not have to follow any established business guidelines. A friend of mine commented to me that when you tour Stardock, we have a pretty diverse team. I suspect most companies would do a bunch of PR on that. But for us, it's just about who makes the coolest stuff. If we ha
