Forums go Boom every time I try to post!

Has anyone else been having this problem lately? At least half the time I try to post, the forums go Boom and my post is eaten. And it's periodic; for example, I've tried to post something like 5 times in the past 10 minutes but it won't work. But I posted something earlier in the day and it worked just fine, but the day before I couldn't post anything either.

Also, if this post works, I will cry.

The few who are left, the ones who are complaining, are the ones who care about the site.

Everyone else who can't access the site never come back.

When this is sorted I don't know how we are going to get people to participate in the site. It now has such a bad reputation.

 

 

Given it took ten minutes to load the forum this morning, I'm expecting this to boom rather than post. We shall see...

You can see what is happening from the activity. Mostly posts are just a few minutes apart, which is normal for this site (WC). But inbetween there are huge gaps. Yesterday morning 5hrs and 3hrs separated by one post, and since quite a few of 2hrs+. This tells you the site is unreachable for those periods.

The word for me is sad... though it mightn't reduce me to tears, I will be sad if WC ceases to exist on the back of all this.  People are staying away (or can't get on) because of speed and reliability issues... and it worries me that if it is deemed there is not enough traffic per day to keep the site open.....

It's a catch 22 either way, and for me, there is no other home on the internet.   I don't use Facebook or other social networking sites, and I'm not one for social chatrooms (can't type fast enough).... not one for emails that much, either, but if the trend continues here, or the site closes, I may be forced to these other tools to keep in touch with the many people I consider "friend" here.   I'd rather not have to go elsewhere because I'm comfortable here, but if need be......

I'm on 'all the time'....don't see anything special/y 'wrong' with accessing the forums.  Certainly the spammers get on quite efficiently [until I remove them].

If you get a whole collection of doom-sayers in one place at one time....the 'sky will fall'....as it will be the commonly accepted/expected norm.

If things go gaga it's typically on a weekend.....and this one's over [here]....;)

Well, it just took me 2 minutes to load the WC home page and site navigation takes forever.....in addition to the forum issues.....the state of the operation of this site is simply mind boggling....oh yeah, I forgot it is a holiday weekend and everyone knows the internet is closed on weekends!
