When you go from a neutral alignment to good, the good skin looks very bad. Some of the text are put on top of each other and so on. You can solve the problem by saving and reloading. The skin then looks the way it was intended to do.

I hesitate to mention this because it is so weird: I've noticed that if I play for several hours with the current build, then try to shut off my computer, it reboots! If I shut off again, everything is alright. What is weird about this is that GC is the only program that seems to cause this phenomenon. I am running XP Home with an Athlon 1.8, 512meg, and a GForce 3 card. I started noticing this after I routinely loaded Smart Exception to catch crashes. Is SE a factor? I usually don't quit SE after terminating GC; could that be the culprit? To repeat, I haven't seen this with any other game or application, and my system has been very stable for the six months I have had it.

I'm not sure if this is a bug or intentional, but I've never seen the behavior before 1.03.051:

Now, even though I'm completely in the red, the AIs are coming and demanding that I pay them sum huge sums of money or they'll attack me. Even though I explain that evey my creditors are after me, relations still tank.

In every version prior to this the AI would say something about how my civ was too poor to pay them so give up such and such a tech and something.

Yesterday my Terror star starts move with 8/1 instead of 1/1, i saved the game, downloaded again but anomally disapeared.
I am not sure why... it was in fleet with some ships and had all improvements except trade and manufacturing.

This was not first time, i experienced it twice times before.

Superfast Terrorstar isn`t bad :d

Version was 1.02

Code Monkey,

How far are you in the red? I tested some wacky thing on Ultramarine's suggestion, and when I was 4500 in the red, the Drengin demanded 500 bc tribute (roughly - my post is further up in the thread). That's the kind of tribute I've seen requested when I'm 4500 or so in the black, so it seems like the AI reads your treasury as per its absolute value. But that's just my guess.

Hello!
First, I didn´t read through all posts here, so please forgive me if the problem has been mentioned before.

When I spend money on espionage and destabilization on a minor race the following happens after processing the next turn:
In the minor races menu the symbol of the minor race is now replaced by the face of the last major alien race I was in contact with. And for this race the same amount of espionage/destabilization credits is now located.

Oh, I´m playing 1.02 right now...
Bye

In the diplomacy screen, when sliding the AI's credits (money) slider, it crashed to the desktop. This only happened once, not all the time.

I have 1.02.49 stand alone. My upgrade path was 1.0 CD to 1.01 stand alone to 1.02.49 standalone. No other mods.

I keep getting CTDs when i finish the game! :sniff!:

The first time i finished a game, a box popped up asking if i wanted to submit it to the metaverse. I said yes. Score got posted, everything good.

I've finished two games since then, one on my desktop at work, one on my laptop at home (from which i submited the original working score) and in both cases, no mater how many times i reload and beat it again, no submission box pops up!

The game just exits to the desktop, i'm not sure if it's crashing or if that's the normal behavior other than the complete lack of a submission box. I can't remeber what it did the first and only time it worked, however i suspect that it should be returning to the main menu :notsure:

I'm running 1.01A at work, and 1.02 something at home, I can check the exact number when I get home.

I was behind in tech so I traded 150/turn in return for all their tech.

They are now very dead, but I'm still playing tribute. is this a bug?

A hidden cost has been introduced in 1.03. I adjust the sliders to make a small profit and I alway have less money next month - at this moment it's about 100 less money per month.

I'm using 1.0.2.049 (I'm going to update after I type this out :)
and I'm in a Huge galaxy trying to get the technology win :)
The Drengin are at war with me (for no reason whatsoever) and trying
to make peace. They're letting me dictate terms, so I take all of
their technology and go to take all of their influence points.

If I drag the slider over to grab all their influence, it crashes,
exits, no complaints, windows, or anything, to the desktop.

I can repeat it by loading the autosave, and it happens every time,
but only if I take all their technology first : If I select the
influence points first (there's 28596 of them if that makes a
difference) then it doesn't exit : it only exits if I take their
technology first.

Save game is available if you want to test with it. I'm running
XP SP1 on an IBM T30 Thinkpad.

AWESOME GAME! Keep up the good work!

I don't know if anyone else has seen this (so many threads to read) but all the later ships on my copy Rangers, Terror Stars, Pheonix etc are "invisible" they're there but have no graphics, in the queue or in game!

I'm probably doing something stupid :(

I've got all the patches off SD 1.03.052 and bonus pack.....any ideas guys?

OK I mentioned a bug before (slider in influence points CTD) but
this is another one. I can't find it listed in the huge number
of messages here, but it's REALLY ANNOYING :)

If I load any of the saves I have (Auto, Previous Auto, or the save
I was using) I go to 0 production on every planet (and 1 morale) after
1 turn. This SUCKS! I was playing this game for about 5 hours before
the CTD I mentioned before, but now I can't go in and finish it because
I don't get any production any more!

Any help would be GREATLY appreciated (but replies to this I'll probably
miss due to the sheer number of messages here)

Foreign Relations screen
Minor Races tab

After you "Speak to" a minor race the picture, race name, etc. reverts to that of the currently selected Major race after you return from the negotiation screen.

i.e., Speak to the Boojums , finish, and you will see the Drengin instead of the symbol for that minor race. Clicking on "speak to" above the portrait of those evil Drengin bastards
will let you to speak with the Boojums again.

I have the save game if this is not readily reproducible.

Posted by Phaedyme, Re: posts 228 & 230

I wasn't nearly that far in the hole, I think I was at -700 at my lowest point. I can't remember if their demand was ever greater than the absolute value, though.

vsn 049 - also in 1.03.052
Tribute in Stats-Economy says 4294967274 bc/t (wow!). In Economy says 4738 bc/t.
Want the save?

Oh - I am also seeing the invisible ship thing...

I won a game tonight for the first via an Alliance victory, but the Overview text that came up at the end described it as a Cultural Victory.

Right clicking too fast while moving ships can result in loss of movement points. There are many conditions under which this could occur, including when the game chugs, but you can confirm this by double right clicking when attempting to move a ship. You can literally get it stuck between two squares and deplete all its movement points with the right timing.

I have expereinced the same prob Jderby did just a few posts ago...I have not played 1.03 yet

After trading for a technology that I am currently researching, I don't get prompted to pick a new tech to research. Until I go in and select one, bc spent on research seem to be lost.

Under the Sensors race pick section the bonus are reading

+1 %
+2 %
+3 %

is this how it should look or are there some missing digits ?

This is more of a Stardock Central thing - every time I try to update to 1.03.054, nothing happens for awhile, and I get a message stating that the update failed.

Never mind. My housemates did something wonky to the firewall.

I hate when they do that.

Three bugs in a save game:
One is the loss of a resource under my starbase. I had it change type once and lose mining improvements, now it just vanished. This on an autosave.
I loaded an autosave because I have a regular save which consistently crashes on open: Open (OK), I get immediately the Drengin talking to me ("Give me money else..."). I say "No", click, then click leave, and CTD. I never get to see the regular panels seen on open.
I also think it is a bug to see that diplo screen, since I had continued playing past the save, and not gotten the diplomacy screen. Thus the ai behaves itself differetnly if you save and reopen tha game vs. you keep playing. This can lead to abuse.
