I use spybot search and destroy. A great free program I've been using for years along with AVG anti virus , another Freebie. What can I say I'm cheap and they work.

When I preordered there was a seperate button i think(been awhile now), cause it's like 5 bucks more for shipping. I do remember the option was clearly marked though. P.S. Obviously as the original topic goes I have no problems with buying online with Stardock, since I have preordered. I wouldn't do it for some companies online though.
Kinda makes me think I need to pump all my trade routes to one civ. Then ally , kill routes. Setup the next civ. would be viable. I'll have to experiment. Gotta love a game you can still refine your strategy for, after playing for months.
Thanks for the replies. I guess basically I just need to work on it. Just glad to know it is possible.
I have been wondering if it's possible to get an alliance victory now. Every game I get one Civ. to close and ally. It doesn't even rely on alignment or anything. Always one gets close. So I ally, then There is nothing I can seem to do to get a second Civ on board. The Relationship factors and alignment can be much more favorable to ally with some of the others than the one I already have. Well long story short I tested and tried everything to get at least a second civ allied. No amount of Plane
I have to say I agree with the starbases being unable to protect themselves late game. Seems like there should be some high end late game tech's to at least have a chance against ships.
You have to go to your profile and click on the default button beside your character to set it.
I read this earlier and didn't sign, but I come back and see more "My Carrier Idea" type Post than ever. At least combine them since there the same people saying the same things in all of them. /Signed
you could always ctrl+alt+delete and look for the debugger or VS.exe or somesuch process and shut it down that way. Then install the game.
This Post is generating a lot of great info for new players. Maybe they should sticky it.
Do your ships already have defense? They must have at least one point of defense in any category for the starbase defense boost to take affect.
That's a hard to answer ?. Most of the game I keep research higher than the others, but I change them every few turns for max efficiency depending on the situation. I guess if i had to keep them in one spot the entire game it would be something like Mil 25%; Soc 25% ; res 50% , but thats just a rough estimate. If it was set the whole game I'd have to experiment for optimal configuration though. Just my 2bc. <img src="http://images.stardock.com/gc2/T_DL/smiles/Smile.gif" border=0 ALIGN="absmiddl
Hi:). I've done a search and only found info pertaining to 1.1 on this, but when i choose one of the in game custom maps, set my opponents to bright or intelligent, they do nothing to try to colonize. I've tried a couple different ones and always the same. I even left a planet uncolonized for while to see what happened. Finally got one of four(four corners map at the time)to colonize a world. I was wondering if it had to do with not getting the starting colony and survey ship. Thought maybe that
I'm not sure if there's a thread on it, but like the core ships your desighns should show as tech becomes available. that a reason not to replace same name upgrades(I add G-2,G-3 so on). So when you get the tech in turn your models matching should show.If you saved a design with Lasers V though, the entire design shouldn't show till you have the tech.
I've gotten almost accustom to the build times being wrong(been that way since I got GCII). I know if it initially says 100wk. It means like 17wk. .Mine are always consistently stated longer than actual build time.
I got that too. Had to run windowed before I found I had bad Nvidia drivers. When i went fullscreen it seemed clearer. Definately a difference.
1. Not that i've seen. They just setup the route quicker. 2. The one with the waterfall looking thing? Yes, that's for embassies 3.upper left hand of the upgrade window, below the ship thumbnail is little box to upgrade all ships of class.
Clive Barker's Undying was a good scare for it's time. It had excellent use of sound effects to add to the atmosphere. F.E.A.R. (of course)
An event that happens rarely or the odds are against it hapenning at all.
nahh... My current gigantic has three. Must just be a fluke thing.
It's totally the torians in my game. they started by somehow outcolonizing me by 20 planets, unheard of with them on bright in the past. Then they opened up a can on the drengin and korx, which my giving them both ships didn't help much(I saw the threat and tried to help the others). Only category i have stayed ahead of them in is research by setting it at 70%. That will be the difference though, cause when i decided to knock them down a peg, my 100 ships are ripping through their 900. <img src=
The military rating seems to mostly count quantitiy of ships and not quality. Many games I've had lower mil. ratings but when attacked, my ships would just mop the floor with them. Also if they have a fully upgrade military starbase or two that will boost the rating as well.
Sounds like A debate forming, heh. I have to say I like the economy better now. Seems like a smoother transition, from not having to completely dropp taxes for 100% approval at the beginning. To increasing them incrementaly over time, not jerking the rate way up and down. Which would make real citizens drag you out of the capitol feet first. Later in the game it takes longer to get to that money making com
make sure your "Disable ship textures" is not checked in the options menu. That is what they looked like when i was playing with that setting once.Other than that IDK.
ok thanks. I'll try SE since after seeing the other thread it seems reproducable. Yes it is two monitors and it runs pretty good up to large. Huge can get a little jumpy, so i just stay in tact. view most time. I don't think i could go back to the limited view after playing this way for last couple months.
