Redirecting the Public Documents folder no longer works with Win 10 (for me anyway) in Personal Computing WinCustomize Forums

I have several applications which use the public documents folder extensively. I want to relocate the public documents folder to an SSD drive specifically so the various graphical apps don't need to wait for a disk to spin up and to get 9.6 gigs of files off my system drive. There are two ways I have found to do this. One is straight forward: Boot into safe mode, select the properties of that folder, choose the location tab and change it. The other way is more dramatic

Zubaz!! You are not going to believe this. I posted about this exact problem 4 years ago and figured out how to stop it. Disable desktop pages. Not the most elegant solution, but since Win10 has multiple desktops why not. Heres my reply to that old post: " AH HA! I just disabled the "Desktop Pages" option and unchecked all the options within that. The problem has been solved. I wouldn't have associated Desktop Pages with my problem, but

USB ports power down at sleep (didn't on old machine) in Personal Computing WinCustomize Forums

New HP machine, Win 10 64bit, UEFI "BIOS" I have screens set to shut off at 10 minutes, HDDs set to shut off at 20 minutes, computer sleeps at 30 minutes. The rest of the power plan is/was the default Win 10 plan. None of my USB ports stay powered when the machine 'sleeps' including the port on the top with the lightning bolt symbol, which I thought was specifically designed to not shut down. Here's what I've tried, in approximately the order tried:

Need a separate logon for forums? in Forum Issues WinCustomize Forums

Is there a problem with the Forums? I can login to WC no problem, but when I click on the 'Forums' button, it takes me to an odd looking forums screen and asks for my login info again. Never used to do that. I type in my creds and get a 'server not found' error with an error from ABP saying there was a cross scripting problem. Then I have to select 'reload problem script' to get to the forums.

Zubaz, I did as instructed and disabled one of the entries. I have a really old program called Startup by Mike Lin which shows from which hives startup programs are called. There are 2 entries for Fences. One of them is active and in HKLM /Run, the other is in HKCU /Run, also active. So, even though I have disabled one of the startup entries in the Task Manager, there are still two active entries in the registry. Should I go into the registry and delete one of those keys

I have the 3.03 beta installed. The UI finally showed up, but it was about 30 minutes after I had invoked it. I can add a screenshot of the multiple instances of Fences Settings if you wish. Just checked and had two in Task Manager. Just FYI, I used a .bat file from Stardock to uninstall Fences completely and then installed the 3.03 beta, so this should be a clean install. I will be happy to give to you any information you need for resolution. Again,

I believe so. I would love to be able to verify that but I can't get the UI to show up at all now. Don't know if this is related or not, but when I changed IP packages, Fences operations had ceased. None of my fences were showing up. Ironically, the UI displayed immediately when launched from the start menu, gave me an error stating something to the effect of 'Fences does not appear to be loaded, you may have to reinstall Fences,' but the UI was there. Just tried to load the UI by right clicking on a fence. Counted 30 seconds and stopped. As I'm typing this it still hasn't shown up. Task Manager shows two instances of Fences Settings, but no UI. Also, I only called it once. One instance is showing 2.4MB of used memory, the other is showing .5MB of used memory. Just tried invoking the UI from the start menu entry. Now there are three instances. Two of which are 2.4MB and the third .5MB. I did an end ta

Ah, thank you sir. I will give that a try. Pretty handy for sure. In Win 10, when I go to "Devices and Printers" there are icons there which are not being represented by the current IP set. Are there just some icons which cannot be changed? I didn't see the appropriate icon in Package Builder from this package nor the Win 10 icon either. Side question, are you still doing icon sets for IP? Thanks again for your help!

How can I fill in icon images in older sets which are missing the newer OS icons. It seems that many icons have duplicate images in the original Win 10 icon set, so how do I know which one to replace? Do I replace them all? Are there any differences? I'm having the hardest time with live folders :-) Is there any tutorial for creating complete icon sets for Win 10? No one, as yet, has created an icon package for the new version of IP.
