from a skinner's standpoint i will say that the community as a whole has become so much pickier than they have in the past. The reason is choice. With thousands of skins out there, we have choice. We decide what we like and don't like. It's as simple as that. Art is art. Would you tell

I personally believe free, basic (dial-up) Internet service should be included with your phone service...but that's just me. Great article. There's stuff for us non-teachers as well! Thanks! <img src="http://images.stardock.com/wc/icons/wc.gif" border=0 alt="Posted via WinCustomize Browser/Stardock Cent

Wha?! Somebody puttin down OD? Dem's fightin werds! Nah, really, it's a great program - I hardly ever use my start menu anymore. Besides, if you need any advice to help set it up, just ask. We're more than happy to help. There are a few docklets that can be a pain at times to get setup (like the check mail) where you have to edit the config file, but once it's setup, it's finished. What's even more fun is after you

Wow, why don't you just ask for the world on a platter? It all depends on what you want to accomplish. Do you just want to change the look, add little programs on the desktop? Create a new start menu? Get rid of the Explorer shell and get a new one like litestep? If it's customization to change the look and feel, start with https://www.stardock.com/ (the parent site to this one) and read through the descriptions of the various

OMGs...when I gave up my desktop I gave the puter to my mom and got a different mouse - the MS Trackball. She loves it (has had it now for over 4 years) I absolutely hate it. Never have liked the trackball. I do have to give MS props though for coming out with the ergonomic keyboard way back when. I had to buy one when they came out and boy did they ever save my wrists. When you work on puters for 8 hours a day then come home and are on

what he said ^^^ When looking for tutorials, it can be a chain reaction - you try one site and it links to another, etc.. I've found some great sites like this. Just take time and patience and click away.

A lot of people use 3-D renderers..others (like myself) use only photoshop, and yet others use both. The key is using whatever is available. The best way to learn is by doing. It's a continual process of learning. New techniques, new textures, etc. One thing that really helped me (and still does) is by searching for tutorials. You'll learn new tips and tricks and increase the quality of your output. <a href="

I dunno, Microsoft seems to go through phases with reputable items and not so good. HP is the same. It's just a trial and error for any hardware. I used to have the MS optical mouse when it first came out (use a laptop now) and just loved it. Missed my gel wrist-rest mousepad though. <img src="http://imag

I see transparency as the future. Hopefully the good renditions will outweigh the bad ones (don't count on it though). It's all a matter of how it will be used. As for practicality, it's going to be a matter of choice. I find that the Aero style is just fine for everyday use. Personally I love the trans edging. Charcoal grey is the new black.

Re: Virus attacks It it my understanding through the years that Microsoft was always the main target for viruses and security flaws. I guess the main factor is because of the money-hungry corporation and trying to become a monopoly. IMHO Macs have always had more of a creative following due to its graphics and sound capabilities, making it less of a target. Further, if Macs and Linux/Unix do have security flaws and vir

If buying from my local ice-cream stand, bubble gum in a waffle cone. If buying for home, almost any of the new Dove brand - they are sooooo smooth. Over all, I'd have to say cookie dough. <img src="http://images.stardock.com/wc/icons/wc.gif" border=0 alt="Posted via WinCustomize Browser/Stardock Centr

While I've never used paypal with Stardock, I have used it much on ebay (before they took it over) and a few times since the takeover. I've never had any problems whatsoever. This includes a time I had to request a refund from a merchant. I would say go for it, you'll be safe. Happy purchasing! <a href="../resources.aspx?cm
