OMGs...when I gave up my desktop I gave the puter to my mom and got a different mouse - the MS Trackball. She loves it (has had it now for over 4 years) I absolutely hate it. A lot of people use 3-D renderers..others (like myself) use only photoshop, and yet others use both. The key is using whatever is available. The best way to learn is by doing. It's a continual process of learning. New techniques, new textures, etc. One thing that really helped me (and still does) is by searching for tutorials. I see transparency as the future. Hopefully the good renditions will outweigh the bad ones (don't count on it though). It's all a matter of how it will be used. As for practicality, it's going to be a matter of choice. I find that the Aero style is just fine for everyday use. Personally I love the trans edging. Charcoal grey is the new black.
