OP, you're not going to get much support here, unfortunately. Most people who cared about MP abandoned the franchise a long time ago. None of my friends who bought the original WoM have even bothered installing FE or LH, let alone spend any time reading the forums. We all got it for some team-based comp-stomps like we used to do in FFH2 but the MP feature got removed in FE going forward, after never being finished in the original release. Multiplayer would be fantastic and they co

You can add EXP penalties for multiple Champions without the ridiculous amounts the are now. Maybe a 10-20% reduction in earned XP per hero or something along those lines. Right now I feel like I have no real choice to use more than one Champion in a stack which is especially irritating in the early game. I mean, I'm having some difficulty filling my army and here comes my first Champion... which I promptly ship off to my city to sit like a bum until his own army can be built. Kinda lame,
I think Defenders should get Plate as an inherent ability on picking the class, Warriors should get Chain in the same way. Commanders should get to pick them relatively soon. It's irritating to find a bunch of chain or plate early in the game from "goodie huts" knowing that you won't be able to use it until mid-game+ when you can make your own anyway, plus it will help make them not so squishy early on. Probably wouldn't hurt to give them a piece or two of th
I sorta get the idea behind this, but I think perhaps it needs to be scaled back a bit, especially when it comes to the Human player. I'm talking about when you're doing well in score/power, the AI will generally just line up over and over to fill your coffers with tribute. I could see the AI maybe making a decision of capitulating to tribute demands if I were to threaten them (while hating me more and more, etc) but I don't even have to do anything. They fill my coffers which giv
It goes something like 15->20->25%. After three levels is your EXP boosted by 25% total , or is it 15+20+25 = 60% bonus? Also, does it stack with the +25% boost in the Mage tree?
Woops. Reposted in the correct place.
I've never seen the "Mage" class either, whether I have crystal or not. I think it's a bug of some sort that the pre-built unit never shows up.
Sounds like multiplayer didn't make the cut then? I know there was talk of a possibility of it showing up at some point, but I assume with it not being mentioned for the expansion that I can firmly put that faint hope to bed.
Good luck on the release! I haven't really touched the beta so I'll be looking at FE from a fresh perspective. Hope you guys are successful and some day add multiplayer back in, for the niche of the niche!
*climbs inside his asbestos power armor* I just keep hoping to see a "Multiplayer" button so I can play some comp-stomps with my friends! Maybe some day...
There were/are technical reasons for no tactical battles in MP. I do agree with you that you're going to miss a lot of MP/coop enthusiasts in these polls, though, as a lot of people who are interested in that (including all my friends) don't visit the forum since it's not a game they have interest in without MP...
Lookin' good, man, lookin' good.
I hope you're not stringing me along with the "MP after launch" note... Quit playing games with my heart ! :) Edit: Added smiley to make sure the tone came across as was intended.
Let me be blunt: The game, as is, is a digital coaster for me, without multiplayer. So would I pay a dollar for the DLC? Of course! The real question is, how much would MP fans be willing to pay? Personally, I'd easily pay $10 for MP DLC. I'd pay up to $20 if it weren't for the fact that the only reason I bought the base game (WoM) was because it was advertised as having MP (although it never really materialized, understandably). PLEASE REMEMBER ONE THING</
Sooooooooooo glad there is no multiplayer as that means ALL of the resources goto the MAJORITY of US and not the 1-2% that play mp once and then go on to something else. This is WONDERFUL news. I got soooooooooo tired of the MPers helping to ruin the single player game of Age of Wonders:Shadowmagic which is now just a POS game nobody plays. Got soooooooooooo tired of balance balance balance from the MP crowd. Now, this game doesn't have
I'll be blunt. I can understand the reasons for not including MP, based on time, budget, or a combination of the two. What is really, and I mean really rubbing me the wrong way is how the information regarding the complete removal of MP was just kind of dribbled out two days before beta. I would not have purchased Elemental without MP, and while that game was a bust I've been patiently waiting for a year as Stard
This is offtopic and no disrespect or slight intended to the OP, but would it be possible to lock this forum so only Stardock employees can create threads? Kind of a bummer to see a new Sneak Peek posted only to realize it's.... not.
Refer to it simply as a standalone title set in the Elemental world. It's not an expandalone, it's not a sequel, and it's not a reboot. It is its own entity, unique in its own way, and completely independent of War of Magic.
Schwwwwiiiiiiiiiiing!
I'm really excited about these AI entries, Brad. What you have posted in Part One sounds awesome. As a developer who mainly deals with boring systems stuff (automated rollout/deployment systems for datacenters and the like) I've had no exposure to AI but it's something that has always really intrigued me. Really looking forward to the next installment!
Even if E:FE is a fantastic game, how is Stardock going to overcome the negative bias that will likely cloud the release?
By doing what you just said, making FE a fantastic game. The fact that it's free to people who bought War of Magic means those people who were the ones "burned" by it get to try it out for free. If those people see FE is a great game, they are going to be the ones saying "Hey guys, I kn
Sigh, I'm looking forward to this like I was Elemental back in the day. Really looking good, Derek & Team, keep up the amazing work. Once bitten twice shy, but it's really looking like I'm going to be getting the game I was expecting last year after all... it's just been a little delayed :)
Multiplayer Since I don’t want that dangling out there, multiplayer matters to me personally but we know the hard statistics on the % of people who play turn-based strategy games MP (and I mean industry wide). The word tiny comes to mind. That said, Elemental will be receiving multiplayer love
You made my day with this part. I realize that I'm a niche of a niche here, but MP was the critical issue
I like the random tech idea, it's one of my favorite features in Sword of the Stars. Once more, I really like the direction you and your team are taking with this. Really can't wait to get my hands on it!
Hot damn, Derek, you're getting me really excited about this. Just please please please have coop multiplayer, I wanna go out and explore the game with my friends :)
