Seriously, don't bother. It sucked. Let it be. Take the cool ideas you guys put into it and work them into a new game (and work them out properly this time). Re-doing WOM would be kicking a dead horse imo.

You've got a point there, but on the other hand Civilization is pretty much the only strategy game EVERYONE knows and I still think it conveys a sense of "a-game-like-gal-civ-only-fantasy". I'm no marketeer though, it's just what I came up with. I'm fine with Stardock sticking to the elemental brandname. It'll always remind me of the way they turned a disappointment into a great game.

Maybe do something to tie it in with the galactic civilizations brand? Make it into magic civilizations or fantasy civilizations or legendary civilizations (or elemental civilizations even)? You'd get Fantasy civilizations - WOM, Fantasy civilizations - FE, Fantasy civilizations - LH and so on. Regardless, I was quite pissed when WOM came out and sucked (i'd really looked forward to it and was therefore extremely disappointed) but you guys did right by y

Is the stupid ass combat finally fixed? The game has been stable on my pc for some time, but the last time I played (one of the 1.2 iterations I think) my armored groups of soldiers with light weapons were being wiped out bij equally large groups of soldiers without armor with a slightly more damaging weapon (my guys had shortswords and theirs the spears thing you discover initially). My soldiers cost three times as much to build though and should at least be able to hold their own ag
I don't feel like a god-like wizard lording over a kingdom which employs powerful and flavorful individuals, and I think that's a bigger problem in the long run than the bugs and AI and balance issues which I utterly trust Stardock will fix.
I think you've put your finger on the sore spot there. If I'm some demigodling a wolf or a bandit shouldn't kick my ass, even when I'm unarmed at level one. Also it should matter which kingdom/empire I play, g

I think people also underestimate the value of regular system maintenance like cleaning the registry, deleting extraneous and unnecessary files, and defragmenting the hard drive (basically, just run CCleaner and Defraggler every couple of weeks). Even top of the line hardware won't do you muc

Some valid points there, but the bit about the champions is way of the mark. Some of my champions and children were quite powerful when they gained a few levels and had some good gear. Sure, not master of magic powerful, but I always felt it was a bit shitty that a hero or with the right equipment could wipe out an enemy empire in a few turns. Also, the tactical combat could be better in terms of using the terain, but there are plenty of special abilities (which you don't notice if yo

I feel the reviewer was a bit out of line there. Sure the game was bugged all to hell when you released it, and maybe you shouldn't be posting such comments on a forum when you're the CEO of a company and you should be fixing the damn game. However you've done a great job getting the game to a state in which it can at least be played for an hour or two before crashing, and I hope and believe you'll get it right eventually.Hey, you're only human (or frog, whatever). Anyways, de

I'll admit to having been quite pissed off about getting a half working game at the first go, but it's gotten quite a lot better over the last few days. A word of advice: stop putting new stuff in untill you've ironed out most of the bugs.

The problem is they released it now instead of in four weeks. I won't stop buying their games, but I'm sure as hell waiting a month or two after release to buy the next one. I'm glad you're finding it an interesting experience, but I signed up for a fun experience :)

Sorry, gotta side with Sendark on this: I !love! the game when it works. Unfortunately it's rare for the game to work for more than an hour. If I'd wanted to beta test and post error reports I'd have signed up for the beta. I bought the game to support stardock making fun games, I'll hold of on purchasing the next one for a few months after release so I can play something that works more than half the time. I'd have rather waited a week or a month longer for a

Sorry Frogman, but that doesn't work. I have the latest Ati drivers on my win7 x64 with hd4890 and the problem is still there.

I pre-ordered about a week ago and received a confirmation e-mail. Will I be able to download the game today? Should I wait to receive another e-mail or will the game just show up in Impulse? (I'm in the GMT +1 timezone btw)
