Apologies if some of these have been mentioned before, but here are my suggestions: 1. Manage starbases similarly to colonies, with an improvement queue. Each constructor arriving in the starbase can then be used to automatically upgrade it 2. Events that can turn some AI players really strong (precursor device?) should optionally be triggered for the player's civ as well

It would be really nice if the "discovering Precursor artifact" event could happen to the player's civilization as well?
Doesn't always work; playing it right now and there's a Dread Lord Observer guarding the planet. Argh. Back to ship-building..
I normally put a fleet on a starbase on guard; that way, when a non-allied ship/fleet approach within sensor range they get awakened. Really useful if the starbase has wake interdiction for slowing down the enemy fleet too.
Won't morale be really really poor on such planets? I'd imagine a Dread Lord-type situation where only 20m is supported.
And on the earlier mission, when I was supposed to be given instructions on how to place the spies on dirith I didn't get a single thing! Where am I supposed to find all this useful information? Does it even exist!? You're not meant to get additional information. The spymaster's job is to make sure that once you place the four spies on the planet, they will manage to find the necessary information. I was wondering why we're given such a
As HercMighty said (#4), everytime a percentage figure appears it has two % signs (1%%, 5%% etc.). I actually finished a game (Diplomacy, playing Federalists with +50% diplo and +1 trade route) at Challenging level (all Bright) and .. err... the overall score calculation looks fine, but the individual ones (for Tech, Military etc.) show 0 for almost all categories (apart from 'Tech Developed' - tech researched showed 0 too for all races).
I thought this was supposed to be beta1, with 1a next week and 2 the week after? Still downloading, looking forward to test-driving (since it appears from previous comments that I would not be able to complete a game)
A-ha! After upgrading to Drengin.net for the upcoming Altarian Prophecy, I ... did not convert my serial number. Yes, silly me - read about it a long time ago and as it was not mentioned at the time of the upgrade, I simply forgot about it. Note: MS SQL Server sucks. Or DBAs that run them tend not to throw enough resources at it. I received database timeouts several times before finally managing the score conversion; good thing all my games survived.
Quite surprised to see the problem still unfixed. Guess developers are working on Alien Prophecy? (Note: link from main website says 'Propehcy'. Bad, bad Stardock!) Quite frustrating as I have played 3 games successfully at Crippling level (all Genius) this month, and not a single one has shown up. My most recent score is still from mid-December :(
Answering myself ... there *is* a 'Custom rule' option at the customization screen. Sorry :)
Bug with 1.49[b].010 ? Yesterday I installed the 06/01/2004 Altarian Prophecy build, on top of GalCiv 1.12.xxx (forgot the version number) and... to my surprise found that the new loader loaded the original GalCiv (all the menu options *exactly* the same). Thinking I needed 1.13.080, I updated GalCiv. Made no difference. Then I uninstalled and reinstalled Altarian Prophecy, and there is still no difference. There were only two scenarios I could load with the scenario editor, bt
