well, i get this error message (minimum 1024x768...), click ok and the screen stays black. if the laptop is connected to an external monitor with 1204x768, it works... so the resolution seems to be the problem. what do you mean by saying the UI is messed up? can you start the game in 800x600?
I have a laptop which only supports 800x600 - is there a chance to get the game running on it?
I am running the game on my laptop which has a 16:9 display and 1024x600 resolution. The graphics chipset is intel 82852. When the game loads, the screen stays black, however, I get an info message that the minimum resolution is 1024x768 - could that be the reason? I enjoyed the original GalCiv a lot on the go, so I would appreciate any way to make it work with a 1204 or 800x600 resolution.
