when the game crashes and makes a dump file, it asks 'Would you like to send this file to the programmers who caused it and can fix it?'. If I answer 'yes' here, is the dump file send automagically, or is it just saved so I can send it myself?

My feeling is that the zoom functionality didn't only change when using 'Zoom to cursor', but also when this is turned off. When I was playing a bit yesterday, I had some problems trying to zoom into a battle, either I coulnd't zoom in any closer while I was still looking at icons, or the zoom would go to fast and right by the ships. In both cases I could get this resolved by first double clicking on the ship I wanted to toom into, and then zooming again.

Actually it does show if you select the nebula. Some disable the use of antimatter effects; others prevent fighters/bombers from being able to launch, among other things. Strange, I really thought I had the Nebula selected... but I just checked and it does

I've just about finished a small random galaxy against one easy AI player... I got 3 new gravity wells. 2 Asteroid Belts which you can't colonize and which contain not nearly enough asteroids I think (but that might be me ) and a Magnetic Nebula which looks nice, can't be colonized and doesn't seem to do anything else but sit there twinkling in the dark. Is it suppose to do something? Disable sh

Question: If I pre-order today will I still get access to Beta 3 or will I have to wait until the next round? Well, according to the post on the main-site: Gamers who pre-order before September 26th will gain immediate access to Sins of a Solar Empire Beta 3

As far as I know, the serial should be in the order confirmation... At least, it was when I ordered the game just before the end of the beta 2 signup period...

I've never had this problem, when playing in a big universe the mouse might react a bit sluggish (Trying to build a military and civilian research stations ends up being two civilian stations) but it always reacts, and I've always been able to close those windows. I also have a Logitech mouse (Laser instead of optical) but no idea what driver I'm using...

Yes, but the current system not only feels natural but follows the standard UI practices -- you move your mouse over a control area and it stops doing stuff elsewhere. Thats pretty much normal, and natural, to any windows user. You want your scroll wheel to scroll any window you mouse it over, if it doesn't you're going to think its broken. Having to press an extra key to regain a small part of your UI (and I really don't think its a 6th of your control area...) just w

After installing the latest patch, I wanted to try a BIG game, too bad the 'Custom galaxy' option is disabled so I changed some files to make a large galaxy a bit larger. Anyway, during this game (which is hardly finished) I noticed some strange UI things which might need some changing... - When you load a game, you can change / add opponents but these changes have no effect on the game, so why show this screen? - If you hover above the money, crystal, ... displays, you get to see a

After the last patch it seems the 'Long range jumps' research topic isn't needed anymore to travel to other stars. In a game with three computer opponents I saw scouts from all of them fly around my planets and when one of those opponents offered me an intelligence pact, I saw that that opponent was based in another star system (This was very early game by the way). So, thinking 'What the heck...' I tried sending my fleet to another star without having researched 'Long range jumps' and

I'm playing on a gigantic map started in version 2, upgraded to 2a. Reasonable early into the game I got a (mega?) event which placed a spy on all colonized planets (mine and AI players). At the time I already had about 60 planets, and I am busy training spies to try and remove them. Then I noticed the counter espionage tech which gave me the Counter Espionage Center planetary improvement. So I started building this on planets which still have a spy (around 45 at the moment) but when these cente

I just finished my first Dark Avatar game, and when I look at the end of game statistic screens, I noticed I have an Avarage Monthly Income of -14311 bc / month (see screenshot) which is a bug I think. Because I had the luck to find 3 economic resources very close to my homeplanet and stole a few others I don't think I ever had a negative income except maybe for a few turns in the very beginning of the game. As a matter of fact, I had an income of more then 20000 bc each week in the last couple

You're probably right that this is mainly a balancing issue, but I just wanted to bring this to the attention of Stardock, and hear the feeling of my fellow beta testers. If these Mega events don't give a 'Oh crap...' feeling when they hit, they won't be really memorable which was one of the reason they were added to the game I think... I'll just have to wait and see I guess, but I hope they will really become MEGA in the future. Kind regards, Scorpi

In the last game I played, I got two mega events and both were much too easy to survive. First I got the Plague event, still pretty early in the game, I was still colonizing planets. Because I already had the pre-requisite, I could research the plague cure in about 7 weeks with all my income going to research. Much further on in the game, I got another mega event, this time an invasion from the Dread Lords. They got one planet in the corner of the map. Two turns later I wiped them o

I just got a strange little bug... Pretty early into the game I got the Plague mega event, because I already had researched the pre-requisite, it only took me a few weeks to get the cure. The AI opponents didn't seemed to mind millions of people dieing, and a lot of turns later still didn't have the cure (populations still declining) so I decided to try and trade the cure and see what I could get for it. Because I still hadn't build any ships, I traded the cure to the Arceans for as

I just want to add another little suggestion to this list. When Dark Avatar gets installed, it would be nice if it used the same options as the original game. I mean, I had problems in Dread Lords when using the software cursor (it stopped responding after a while) so I enabled the hard ware cursor in the video options. After installing Dark Avatar, it would have been nice if this option was also enabled, but it seems all options are just some kind of default instead of what I chose in Dread
