Reagan's pretty tough. I had 2 very tight contests with him before I finally got him. I don't remember who's next because I haven't played in a while, but whoever the next opponent was, he was easier. I got stuck on George Washington. The man was impossible to beat, at least with the candidate I was using (Sullivan). I eventually used a strategy very similar to the one that was proposed several strings up that you had trouble implementing.

Yup, that's been my experience. In fact, I'd gotten to 22% of Disciples II downloaded (quite a victory, considering it'd taken about 15 hours to get there) until just now, when it inexplicably started over again. I appreciate the concept that is being pursued here, but, unfortunately, unless the delivery technology improves, it should come with the caveat that if you're on dial-up, you might not want to sign up.

Thanks, Jake, for responding. With respect to what Stydracos said, I don't know what StardockCentral is supposed to do, but every time my connection has been dropped, when I re-connect and start downloading again, it certainly does not resume. So, it appears that it does not "pause." Auto-pausing would perhaps be a good idea. Is it possible to set SDC to pause by default anytime the connection is stopped, whether by a user or by an interr

I am having the same problems as Harcon. I have tried to download Disciples II several times. Unfortunately, I only have dial-up, so it goes slow. I could handle that all right if the downloading started up where it left off, but it never has. It always starts over. That essentially means that I can never download any of these big games. I have only gotten to about 20% b/f getting cleared out. This is not fun. Splitting into 11 files so

Well, the latest version doesn't even begin for me. When I try to run it, I get the message "failed to initialize display" and that's it. It won't run. I'm on a Pentium M 1.3 GHz w/ 512k memory using Windows XP. Actually, it's kind of funny, b/c the only version that has worked from start to finish was the first beta.
