Yeah this was definitely the custom creation for me - if you're creating a Cybernetic race, you'll be needing Cybernetic citizens! Is that something that can be added to the custom race creation, being able to create your own citizen as well? Maybe that should be locked in though - Cybernetic race = Cybernetic citizens regardless.

Thanks for the reply: I think the farm issue was a conflict with my custom race being cybernetic, but my citizens being organic - my populations were definitely growing, but I think the cybernetic trait was preventing me from building farms? If you're building a custom cybernetic race you do seem to be lumbered with Yor citizens if you are following the theme through. I think a few people were having issues with building the probes, so that's probably been ad
Hi Have downloaded the latest version of the Insider Build and seem to be getting the same issue no matter what race I'm playing: 1. I can't build any farms. I've checked the tech tree but nothing seems to be locked behind research. This is currently a massive problem if playing an organic race for obvious reasons. 2. When I first go to the Shipyard, there are no Probes available to build. However I can make my own from the ship designer. 3. Interstellar
I gotta stop reading this thread. Waiting for my beta too unlock is getting longer and longer..............
Noticed this in all 1.1 games I've played - the spell Titan's Breath, from the air book, which is supposed to move the target to a random square on the tactical map? It doesn't appear to do anything! This bit me on the arse when some overzealous dungeon exploring lead to me facing a 119hp, 38 hit hoare spider who went through my padded armour and boar-spear wielding sovereign and army in fairly short order. Titan's breath utterly failed to move it, so I never got the chance to exercise the Mo
Yeah boar / oak spears, padded armour / leather armour will repel most monster attacks without too much problem (swarm spiders on have a hit of 3, give your army padded cuirass, arms and legs and they can't land a hit. Personally I like the "monster army" effect, it's about the only thing in the game that gives you a challenge. The faction AI still needs to learn how to build an army and how to expand properly.
Gamplay is lightyears ahead of where it was However I crashed last night about to enter into tactical combat - sovereign, 1 peasant, 1 familiar and 1 champion against what looked like about 7 spiders and 1 bandit. Hard to say as about half a second after entering the tactical combat screen it CTD'd. Only crasht though in about 7 hours of gameplay across s and t.
AI WAR suks, stupid childs toy of bang bang cap pistols. It cheats and Brad is well known for making great AI's without cheating. I want to play against an artificial intelligence not a "cheat code".
Which shows just how much you've missed the point of that game rossanderson - the whole point of AI War is that you have to outsmart and defeat a foe who is so much more powerful than you that they don't even consider you
Good reading, and I love the ideas about the tech tree actually developing your army abilities more. Will this be extended into other areas? Magic seems to stand out here. Now if you can all just get the factions right - different factions have markedly different abilities etc - then I reckon things will really pick up. Someone along these lines someone should be posting articles on the right way to go about fixing bad game launches.

I had the same problem last night - I think it was related to an auto resolve battle not resolving. In the end I saved, shut down the game and restarted - everything worked again after this. I don't think I over-wrote the save if you guys want to take a look at it?
What about limited shots per battle (based on unit type/characteristics) for archer units, like in HOMM? And/or limited unit range (or penalty at longer range, like in H3)? These are simple ways of keeping archer types from being overwhelmingly more powerful than melee units. Melee units must have advantages, after all, every army in history has had some melee/short-range soldiers. Best regards, Steven.&nbs
Did you perchance scrap a lab or lose a planet while researching it?
Not that I'm aware no. I did lose one planet but not any of the structures around it, and reclaimed it almost immediately. Will check the Phasic barrier thing though, thanks for the advice :)
OK, so I'm playing Vasari on a small 1v1 random map, and tech up to RA. Only it gets stuck at 75% researched and won't progress any further. Now am I missing something obvious here? Does this tech depend on the number of phase gates you have built? From reading other posts I gather that spare fleet capacity is required (of which I had about 240) but I haven't read anything about research getting "stuck". I'm not sure that this is a bug exactly so I'm posting here but it does seem a bit od
The Vassari Coloniser cap. ship (evacuator) is very very good in a fight - Admittedly it was against the AI but last night one of these (lv. 6) with 10 skirmishers and 10 assailants took out 25 cobalts, 6 flak frigates, 3 siege frigates, 1 sova carrier (lv.3) and 1 akkan (lv.2) I had one skirmisher and one assailant left at the end, it took a while to get the carrier down and his fighters off the assailants. I agree that PJIs seems a bit limited although they can be useful. There are al
Well I started a game this evening, 5 races, medium galaxy and every single race has gone for mass drivers, not beam. I think one (Thaleans) has gone for missiles.
You have a fantastic game with one of the best AIs I've come across and word does get around. At the risk of being a little bit controversial, I think the small "problem" you had with Starforce certainly didn't hurt, especially over here in the UK. There were a number of forums over here where that was a major talking point, and after people had finished flaming Starforce (Rightly) into the 9th circle of hell, a lot of people starting asking "Is it a g
Hi Question on a game I was playing last night. About 10 years in and I'm playing as the Iconians, going for the technicological victory. I've taken out the Drengin and the Korx after they foolishly decare war on me when I had vastly superior spaceships to theirs, just not many of them. Enough to hammer them into submission though! Anyway, The Terran Alliance are my main threat, 4 times the ships I have and not that far behind t
