so, trading away evil techs does lower your morality level, right? or is aquiring them the only thing that you should avoid on your way to sainthood?
Morbutor
i think that nukes ar evil. and the countries that posses them are evil too. and i do think that the countries that actually used nukes -- especially when they were used against civilians -- are very evil. or at least the 'systems' or 'establishments' that run those countries. apart from that i havent yet heard about any australian-american war, but i will not challenge the fact that women are made from sand :p [yes ive listened to that game] [Message Edited] [Message
[quote]This reminds me of the old saying "Guns don't kill people.. people kill people"[/quote] -- bluesteel i disagree. guns dont kill people, death kills people. its a medical fact. edit: the link you have provided us with, antonchanning, is hilarious. thanx alot :) [Message Edited]
... or is it only important where the trade route allegedly is on the trade screen? cause that seems to differ from time to time. im asking because of the trade bases i wish to place along my tradin line. thx in advance for any help :)
i must ask your forgiveness since i failed to vote. my only excuse aside from having other matters allowed to take my mind off this important election, is that i yet do not know the honorable nominees well enough to try to influence the outcome with my vote. again, i cry your pardon.
we need to respect the rights of all life-forms -- yers, that includes minors and fish! jk :D edit: or actually -- im not really kidding. only bout the part where it might seem that i treat minors as fish. anyway, thx alot for the valuable information about trade routes. this has helped me alot. feel free to develop and use this thread as you desire :) [Message Edited]
wait, are you saying that i may trade from planet A (mine) to planet B (alien planet) several times? i mean, several trade routes may be exactly alike? there do not have to be different target destinations? [Message Edited]
[quote]a delivery mechanism might be installed where a purchased, traded, donated ship has to travel to the nearest controlled planet (to have the crew exchanged) before it is available for use.[/quote] -- Maxtipherous that is exactly what i have just came up with at ray's blog spot. so i havent been the first to think of it ... too bad :P i am convinced that that would be a good solution to the exploit where the sold ships had been positioned directly adjacent to the
the topic about says it all, i usually send all my freighters from SOL (normally my largest planet) to their different destinies. is that okay? or should i send the freighters from different of my planets (not all from SOL) to their trade destinies? thx alot in advance :) [Message Edited] [Message Edited]
to my knowledge, the AI does not cheat at galciv. however, the AIs ive put on the highest difficulty level (was it masochistic?) seem to have some kind of a head start ... or am i mistaken?
theres one more. but i lost it. the torians and the arceans have both surrendered to the machines. i was like "what the fuck (may i say this?) is going on here. bloody treason!!" i mean, they surrendered to the machines that battled them? the machines whos goal is to annihilate every organic life form. right ... madness. i struggled on, but eventually failed -- not without a glorious gotterdammerung, tho. thats all very interesting, thx alot.
alright, thx alot guys :)
or i might merely have to end the turn after having researched everything. lets see ... edit: yep, had to end the turn -- problem solved :) [Message Edited]
is having more than 100% ability in something (like moral) efficient? or is it capped at 100% thx alot in advance. :)
thx, but i must admit that ive been playing about 5 games on version 1.0 -- about half a year ago. im german which means no credit card unless you earn alot. and i dont. thus i couldnt buy the game (it is of course my duty and obligation to support good games, so i really tried to buy the game ;) ) but most recently it had finally hit the stores. what a delight :) im about to finish another painful game. only toridians (sp?) and altarians left. thus no war. so i had to
okay, ic. however that would not suit my approach to the game. i try not to gain the highest score, i try to do good in-game. if that isnt rewarded, okay. so be it. if the opportunity arises to win a game, i will take it. im not a perfectionist; i play for fun. :) researching stuff even tho it is not necessary in-game is actually not an option for me -- hope that doesnt disqualify me a a member of the Jedi Republic. :sniff!:
umm, okay. ive found it. hehe. thx. i guess my score has been lowered because it was achieved using an outdated version of the game?
ugh, i guess i need to stop playing and start sleeping :p thx.
i have so far failed to add this thread to my watch list. but then again i have also failed to do so with other threads. could anybody tell me how to succeed? thx in advance :)
ive finished two games, so far. but somehow im unable to locate them in the metaverse. can anybody tell me what i need to do? thx alot in advance. [Message Edited]
oh, i think i needed to either re-install stardock or update it in order to get the new galciv update. ive somehow hit the update button after having completely reinstalled the whole thingy. no harm done, i guess. 1.10A is an alpha version, right? edit: tools and refresh application data. i will keep that in mind. thx guys, without you i would have never managed to grasp this whole drengin-stardock thingy. [Message Edited] [Message Edited] [Message
okay, thx. just did that. was a tiny map, fortunately. edit: i failed to locate the update on stardock, unfortunately. 1.05.071 is the version i can download at stardock central, drengin.net. correction: it says that that version is already installed. but there is no newer version available, there. could you enlighten me where to look? thx alot in advance ... :) [Message Edited] [Message Edited]
okay, thx everybody. btw, will i be able to finish my current game after having updated to 1.10x ?
i was told that id win within a year because of cultural supremacy. shortly before then end of that year, the last planet of the last independant major civilisation joined my realm. and this idiot lieutenant craped his pants because he thought we had won a war against all those evil aliens out there :sniff!: dont get me wrong, i really like the game. but this is irritating.
