Europe…Well, not so much. There are currently no plans to have a retail presence in Europe. I don’t want to talk too much about this lest I get into trouble but let’s just say, our previous games have been available in retail in western Europe and as much as we like making a nickel per copy sold, we think we’ll pass this time. The retail situation in Europe is just insane and in the age of digital distribution, we’re just not willing

Hi all, We have the experience that we can help our youngest son of 7 (who is diagnosed with autism) a lot when we visualize the daily tasks for him. Things like drying himself after taking a shower, taking a shower etc can be performed without our help after we visualized those tasks for him. And after a while he can do this without those visualizations. Creating those visualizations was a lot of work, using Word with pictures is a pain. Especially when you w

I'm very happy with my Ipod Classic + Teufel docking station. I'm working 4 days at home and the Ipod has so many docking stations to choose from. So i actually first buyed the docking station and after that the ipod :-) My wife has a Creative Zen and is very happy with it. The sound is nice and very affordable.
I spent part of my vacation learning Python. Why? Because I enjoy doing it, not because I have to. I know that most people go home and live “normal lives”. That’s great but a small tech company may not be a good fit for you then.
Remembers me of a holiday i took an AWK manual with me. For the rest most applies, but not the reallocation part :-)

It will be great to look into the quest system that Stardock is creating and eventually enhancing it with more random stuff or creating something new. I see some potential in the ideas of the topic starter. Biggest issue will be a way to balance the stuff so it generates quests that 'feel' right. At the other hand it can generate some really interesting quest's that no one had thought of before. To create a story around those random quest's will be a tricky. It will look like a l
Q: Are the screen shots we see indicative of the final quality? A: NO! The engine we've developed is still being enhanced. For instance, in the screen shot above, the shadows aren't in yet. There are still a lot of features left to be put in visually. That said, one of our primary objectives with Elemental is to have a game that has unprecedented flexibility in terms of the systems it can play on: Netbooks all the way up to 64-bit Core I7s with monster video card

Reply to Cloth map? in War of Magic
I love this idea of a cloth map and making it 100% playable on that map. That way if you have horrible system requirements you can still enjoy this game. That is indeed on of the requirements we have. You will be able to run Elemental /basic (i.e. /basic is a parameter) and play the entire game symbolically on the cloth map. If it's a good game, it should still be fun in that mode.
<p

It would be nice if I filter those titles out, because i can't buy them anyway... Or do the publisher pay Stardock for this advertisement? ;-)

Would it be possible to bundle the book with the already ordered download+box version? Otherwise the shipping costs (to europe) will be > (or almost) than the book price....

Creating a png of the cloth map would do the trick. Especially if you can select the size (and have the option to select really big sizes). Then you can choose which service to print it for you. A good print option wouldn't be a lot of work. Otherwise we will mod it in :-) Why do i get the feeling i will more mod the game than playing it ;-)
Still I think it adds an awesome immersion factor to the game. Did Frogboy say in one of the journels your would be able to rename the landmarks on the map?

Yeah, and it actually sparked a bit of contention with the MP crowd...
It will be fun to see what the Ai comes up with as names. As long as they made this also moddable we can expect Lord of the Rings, Sta

Hi, I'm wondering what the cloth map will be like, and more what can be done on it (especially in alpha phase). Can we build something or only watch the World generator doing it's job? Will there be 'pre-filled' worlds to load so we can watch the world dynamics? All what i currenlty know is that the cloth map is some kind of google earth without the big zoomin (and of course with boundaries) but maybe someone can tell what kind of interaction will be possible. (or possible to

Thinking about prisoners of war. Would be nice if we can get the armor etc from a battlefield. And depending on the health of the prisoner we can take his weapons, helmets etc From a dead enemy the quality of the armor etc would be very low (it is damaged in the battle) Or maybe add some quality points into the equipment. During battles the quality decreases. You can learn you're footmen to repair their own stuff or add a forge to the army. Equipment taken from an enem

Well i can imagen that armies will get unconscious first and unable to continue the fight. If they are left alone they can survive a fight if it doesn't take too long. As long as the fight continues they are loosing health. After a fight they can be healt again. Maybe all health potions in a battle should be tempararely, so after the fight the real healing takes some time. It makes sure that when you cannot encounter several enemies after each other wi
