It is hard to know which window is active, and so I have to click around on the windows. When I start Firefox, sometimes it skins and sometimes it doesn't (leaving the default Windows appearance in place). Same thing with Thunderbird. If either doesn't skin then I close it and restart it and it skins. No idea why. Insights and suggestions welcome, but this is not a critical issue -- just would be nice if the next version fixed it. It would be nice if WindowBlinds 11 would fix this problem. Under Windows 10, if you place a window at a specific pixel spot using SetWIndowPos, Windows 10 will place it semi-randomly somewhere else: it will be off by a few pixels in X, Y, W, and H, and it will be off by different amounts for different programs and different window styles. Basj, thanks for that. In some old documentation I found online, the "Stardock WIndowBlinds Skinning Guide", a PDF by Stardock for Version 3, there is a section on Buttons. In that section there are various code lines that may be applied to buttons. One is "Visibility", and Visibility=13 means "Show if the window has help button (WS_EX_CONTEXTHELP)". It would be nice if the system tray icon could be hidden or, on Windows 10 at least, keep a stable position (on my machine it always places itself at the left end of all the icons, unlike the others which remember where they were placed).

Two things I would very much like: an API callable from another program to turn off WindowBlinds (now it takes a terrible hack) so that it can be automated on and off; and for WindowBlinds to reliably honor its ignore list. Now WindowBlinds causes a program I have and use to crash even through it is in the ignore list (the program runs fine if WindowBlinds is stopped). So I have to use the terrible hack to kill WindowBlinds in order to automatically use this one program.&nbs

Spent all yesterday trying to get a Hyper-V machine set up and running and then a VMware Player machine set up and running. Got Win XP going in both. Failed with Hyper-V to find a reliable way to connect to it from the desktop using Remote Desktop (necessary to have standard shortcuts firing up applications).

I have a program, Lotus WordPro (part of the Smart Suite Millenium Edition Version 9.8) that crashes during initialization when WindowBlinds is active. The program runs fine if either WindowBlinds is unloaded via the taskbar icon unload option or the "default" skin is applied using the WindowBlinds configurator. I did try the method, and the taskbar context menus do change, but I really want to get the desktop right-mouse-button context menu to change, and that did not. Per application lists Chrome.exe, firefox.exe, Opera.exe, System Focus Flipper.exe, thunderbird.exe, and WowStuff.exe. The last three I added and they work fine. If I turn off styling in WindowBlinds (by selecting the "default theme") then SkinStudio shows the default theme. The progress bars are in various Visual Basic 6 programs and are likely implemented through MSCOMCTL.OCX. As for SkinStudio not skinning, this is what I see. I have installed Precision as the skin. I open SkinStudio, and for an example select Precision to edit (I did not save it and I have backups). In Precision I select Edit Titlebars and WindowFrames as an example.
