Nice work to all! I hope the release goes smoothly. Now I just have to figure out how to be patient for a few more days... [e digicons]:dur:[/e] By the way, you may want to post something like this over in the Elemental BETA forum; folks are still posting bug reports there for beta 4.

Folks, the game has already gone gold, beta is done and I doubt this issue is still there at all. At this point we need to wait for the release before we talk about bugs again.
Some won't like that you can't train dragons and unicorns in your cities. But the game that tries to please everyone ultimately pleases no one. id like to point out there is a trained dragon siting beside a lord/wizard inside a castle on your cover !
Yes, but you can get a dragon in the game. [e digicons]B)[/e] As I have done closed beta testing in the past, I am quite familiar with la
You may already have this in mind, but I would like to see an Army or Unit List be available, probably as part of the Kingdom Report, so you can see all the units your kingdom/empire controls at a glance. I'd like to see the list include the units name, location, number of people in the unit, unit level in the case of the Sovereign or a hero, and status such as guarding-moved-unmoved-etc. At the very least, unit name and location would be nice. Clicking on any unit in the li
Thanks for the guide Folcik009, quite helpful. It does sound like there will be more tools released in the future for modding. That Faction Creation Tool does look like it will be in the release, especially since they already have a CustomizeFactionScene.xml file in the CutScenes folder. They are also working on a coat of arms creation tool as well though not sure if we'll see that on release. There's also been mention of Item, Quest, and Effects editors as well.
Thanks for the initial roadmap Dioxus, that saves me some time. Gonna poke around that CoreTreaties file as well.
I agree Wraithstalke, this game is going to be a snap to mod. I've been browsing the XML files and there is a lot of things in the game that are easily accessible already and not difficult to mod. Add in the editors that they are providing on release and there's going to be a lot of fun with this in the near future. Also, from what I understand Stardock has a dedicated group set up to work on the modding aspect of the game, and they will be active with the community for feed
There have been a few posts recently by devs stating that the UI will indeed be cleaned up. Here's one from the other day: https://forums.elementalgame.com/389846 Scroll down to the bottom of the message and read - What’s going to be better than Beta 4? What isn’t changing? You'll see that
one suggestion for reducing the created archer SPAM that the warfare tech give us would be to limit the new units to WHEN the new or upgraded tech (either weapon OR armor that allows new types of weapons or armor BUT NOT on the techs that BUFF existing weapons or armor) that allows the units ie for archers with RANGED weapons short & long bow release. harpo
I agree, and I think that's how it will w
I don't think those summons are going to be in the release in the same form they are in the beta, at least not the obviously overpowered bear unit. Seems to me that bear is more like a unit to allow the player to advance quicker than normal in order to experience and test the mid and late game type of play faster than normal so they can test and see how it works. Or it was just thrown in without any real thought toward balancing at all just to see how the summoned units are workin
I don't mind the soft lighting on the terrain, but using it does cause the game to lose a lot of detail on the characters, especially the clothing. Lately I've been playing without it, and I think I'm liking the overall appearance better.
Draginol, you and the team rock! You're all gamers to the core, and seeing what you and Stardock have done in the past makes me just as excited about what Elemental has the potential of being. Actually scratch that, not potential, but rather what it WILL become. I know your dedication, the willingness of the devs to reach out and LISTEN to the community, and your past record of product support. And to me, what I really see here is the pending release of what will one d
Interesting. You propose that a casters ability to cast more spells per turn is directly related to the amount of essence they have on tap? I would think that Intelligence would be more of a gauge toward spell casting ability; it doesn't matter how big the tank of fuel is, you'll still only get as much fuel out as the size of the nozzle permits. OTOH, the effect of burning up your essence casting spells having a direct effect on the number of spells you can get off is also i
I suspect this function of the game has not been fully implemented with 0.98. Be nice to be able to turn it off though.
I've found that by saving the game at the point that the city disappears, then reloading the save will have the city 'footprint' re-appear, only with no buildings in the city. The sovereign however can now be accessed and exited from the city, so you may want to try that to recover your units.
Note that uninstall from Impulse doesn't delete the contents of the My Games\Elemental or ProgramData\Stardock\Elemental-War of Magic directories. Before installing a new version of the beta I always uninstall from Impulse, then delete those 2 directories, then install the new beta.
I did this as well and had no problems with the reinstall. I got both the correct fonts and the launcher is still intact.
I have encountered three different bugs from this same saved game file: 1 - One shot kills multiple enemies in city tactical battle 2 - Disappearing city and sovereign 3 - Immediate program exit on building removal I have included the relevant debug.err files along with the save game file in question and a text file describing the above in detail. <a title="http://dl.dropbox.com/u/9653872/BugReport.zip" href="http://dl.dropbox.com/u/9653872/BugReport.zi
Yes, happening to me too; I'd say maybe once every six to eight battles or so. Needless to say, I save before each battle. [e digicons]^_^[/e] I have noticed that it happens less frequently with shadows turned off in video settings, though it does still happen. Also, I at least have found that Alt-Tabbing to the desktop and then back to the game will get rid of the fog for the battle so it can be fought properly, however I then run into lag problems immediately or s
Some excellent suggestions here already. Just a few thoughts I have as well to contribute. Since I've only been noodling around with the beta for a short while, please ignore any comments that might already be in the game and I just haven't realized it or come across it yet! City 'Sprawl': One thing that has been a concern of mine is in the way cities are built directly on the map, mainly in regards to the massive sized cities in comparison with the
Aye, I've had this happen as well, and was able to get them back by saving and then reloading the game. I have noticed though that this also destroys the affected city. The cities footprint is still there of the area it occupied before I took it, but all the buildings are missing, not destroyed though, just simply not there at all.
