I think this would be good but it would cut back on multi fleets cos you can have only 1 flag ship and the other fleet will be alot weaker with out flag ship. unless u can get a normal frig or cap specail which counter acts flag abilities. And maby depending on the class of flag ship there are diffrent effects. multiple fleets would still be greatl;y useful, they would only be slightly disadvantaged if they ran into a flagship and its fleet of support s

Ok, so my idea is this, and bear with me if it has been brought up before and if i get confusing at some points. So my idea is this, the flagship give adjustments to all ships in your fleet in the same gravity well, like giving them all the finist hour ability, they do more damage and they have faster movment and better sheilds. Also the enemy would be given negitive effects, the same effects but negative. The reason to explain this would be your side gaining a huge moral boost
You know i think this would be a GREAT idea to dowith a dead asteroid feild...I mean come on, as it standsi have found VERY little use for them but it would be nifty to be able to transform a dead asteroid into something...well...useful
Personalyi liked the one typeof research station as opposed to having two diferent kinds, ust gets kinda annoying having to build them seperatly if you ask me...But i also noticed this andvery much hope it is a bug...or well i guess il have to get into modding lol
hhe is there any posibility of the pirates capturing planets for themselves? that would be intresting lol
Ok several games i have started with max star systems but only 4 players. You think the AI would evenly split them between oen star system each. But every time i start a new game with this config they are all always in the same system as me, i was wodnering if this could be a bug or an intentional design?
Hmm i am running a dual core AMD processor (2.2 ghz roughly),2 gigs of ram, and a nvidia 7600GT vid card, i can play it max setitgns with the largest area possible and i get NO slow down ever, great work on this game! truly amazing and i am very much looking forward to future betas and the final release!
its the 21 wheres my beta 2?!?
Iremember on Red Faction 2 the you could customize every bit of the bots to make them harder smarter ect ect the more often you fought against them. That kind of system would be great for this game.
Ok, i have looked at the system several ways, quite frankly the lane system is the most fun for me. I understand that for some people the open system i better but yet again, as you say, such hit and run and whack-a-mole tactics that would result will wear down the "fun factor" for the people who prefer ordered battlefields. I for one (and many of my friends who have played the beta on my computer) enjoy the way it is presented at the moment. Honestly i prefer having a clearly defined front line
That's providing you have seen the ship in combat before, maybe each time you see it you learn a little more about it, also depending if any messages get out from the defeated fleet, too many variables. Plus the ships were recognized by flags and the big white letters painted on the sides declaring the ships name, if a player wants to keep track of an enemy fleet let him use his eyes and remember the names of the capitals he has seen <img src="http://images.stardock.com/gc2/T_DL/smiles/
That's where tactics come in, you throw a heavy handed and armored assault against the entrenched forces to tie them up, THEN you jump in a smaller fast attack force to slide around the gravity well, pop their jump inhibitors (it doesnt have recharging shields afterall) and then bounce your main assault force right through. That could be a very valid tactic when fighting against entrenched enemy. The AI has done it to me (albeit on accident)on several occasions, where my defenders get t
I only ever ally with the puters to get the rights to research their relics But there is a way to lock teams from the start i think..
Ok one point that i have seen, people who are often happy with a system don't come out of the woodwork to say "This system is awesome, thank you!" they are too busy playing the game, people who don't like something however can seem like the majority because they are the ones on the board talking. Thus a poll or percentage count isn't very accurate I, personally, love the space lanes. It gives grea
sooo friggen messed up, they need to have 7 day support ><
seems to be coming out next year
If not a multiplayer can we atleast get hotseat?
The sector control tab on the minimap wont wotrk if you are zoomed in
Yah you have to research different things to unlock more stock ships bro
I dont think they had money space encounters in gal civ one
The MAX i have seen is 37. The max you can cheat to is 36 but further planetary upgrades can increse it
I have to agree for the most part. Though me and a few of my friends would like nothing mor than to be able to sit here and enjoy the game (in its entierty, cut seens text and all) for 12+ hours to finish out a game. 2 human players against the rest. the GalCiv series has earned its perma spot on my hard drive. Though i do think it would be great if it had a LAN section. I dont care about net play but i play every game i own on a LAN or at parties and such.
2) This may well be a silly question but I can't find the answer in the relevant section of the manual. How do I rotate the components when creating a new ship design? I have the curvy wing design on one side pointing down but I can only seem to have it pointing up on the other side.... I'm sure there must be something obvious I missed! <br/
Ok, when ever i try to start up one of the custom maps it gives me a CTD. when i get around to it i will run it with smart exeption in the back
Does Gal Civ II have one of these or is it a future plan or what?
