After defeating Elemental lords, their territory claim\control is not being removed. I thought of this as well, but I didn't want to get into the whole attaching a command unit thing to units. Though it would be one way of implementing it. Definitely would work since we do get to design the units after all.
I would like to see Champions have the ability either through equipment, trait upgrade, or some other means. Be able to acquire honor guards, body guards, etc. Instead of having them just being a single unit, surrounded by multi group units through out the whole game. This be mostly a cosmetic change so they look like they are more important and protected. As the title suggests, I would think to add further variety or customization to the game. Allow each faction, or the additional option of having a "religion" or affinity for certain shards or elements. Or even take some of these ideas to make additional factions in the game. Be it as a bandit, monster, or insect hive race or what not that plays the "big annoying bad guy" part in the game.
