Thanks for the "behind the scenes" explanation! I really enjoy reading all of the detailed posts about AI development/improvement. Oh and thanks for a great game too!! ;)
8) Spelling error, in main menu, it should be "SCENARIO" not "SCENARIOS".
Um, I'll take more awesome updates and overlook the game-breaking bug listed in number 8 ;)
Does anybody do it? I have won via total conquest and the spell of making. On my latest game just for grins I thought I would check out this path to winning. All of my competitors were beat to submission and if I wanted to I could have rolled over the remaining cities (i.e. I was the most powerful player by far). I got to the last stage of the main quest and got rolled by the creature (trying not to spoil anything). My question is this: How can winning via the quest be
Same same. I haven't fired up LH yet, but I think Brad has been too hard on himself the entire time. Elemental was not great. But I own every game made by Stardock except for the political machine, and they are all top notch. You can't be great every single time! Besides, I think giving us FE for free more than made up for any misgivings from Elemental and I hate to see so much given away that it ends up hurting Stardock. At any rate I'm going to purchase LH as a g
Requested link to save game posted to Dropbox... Polite reminder looking for clarification posted a week ago... ...being so patient.....
Soooo Stardock support team, I was hoping for a nod one way or the other as to whether the lack of city militia is a bug or a game feature (that I don't know the reasoning behind). No hurry, but sure would like to know the answer. Cheers and thanks for a great game!!
A couple of clarifying items: This happens to cities that have been held scores of turns. It isn't because of AI spells, I can scroll though captured cities and see some have militia and some do not. (As an aside, look through some of your captured cities via the details page and see if there are militia icons in the lower left for all of your captured cities). Some captured cities produce militia and some do not (perhaps this is a faction or empire issue). <p
Well...that's crazy enough that it might work ;) Let me know if you cannot access this: https://www.dropbox.com/s/7y7yts8wtekcqy0/Before%20the%20fall.EleSav For the record, on the game saved above I noticed there are 4 other cities that have no militia stationed inside them when you examine the city details. There is a graphic of the city and it shows the number and type of militia defending
That is the first (of several responses) that mentions the Krax ability. It may have happened, but I doubt it is every time (every game) and I know for this latest game it is not the case. A response in the general forum thread suggested this would make a great addition: if city unrest is too high, the militia wont fight for you! This isn't what is happening (the unrest in some cities is quite low before they fall), but is a good suggestion. I forgot to mention that althou
It has happened several times (versions 1.01 and 1.02) that I will not have any city militia show up for a fight and I am notified the city is attacked, and then a notification the city is lost. The city has not been attacked earlier in the same turn (or even the turn prior). I have posted two threads on it the general forum and they have advised me to post it here. I have a saved game before the fall of the city if you would like it. Cheers and
Thanks feelo. I have concluded it has to be a bug and there have been three other people (in this and the other post) who have experienced it as well. I seem to have it happen a few times per game and will post a saved game the next time it happens (I don't have any saves to post as they have been overwritten by now). Great game tho! :) KE
It appears this is a bug where there is no tactical battle for a city that has been held for at least one turn. This is my second post looking for some insight on why there is no tactical battle for cities that have been held for several turns. I thought it might be due to city unrest being too high, but after about a dozen games it appears to just be a bug. Has anybody else been having this same problem?? KE
I have had a few different games where there is no battle when the AI invades a city I have only held a short while. I posted the question here https://forums.elementalgame.com/436681 a few days ago, but other people lost interest in the idea (I guess). Out of the handful of games I have played I have only had cities invaded about 4 or 5 times. About half the time there is a tactical battle and the other times I just get a
All of the above are valid posts; but I always disliked the fact that in the Civ series, other nations declare war on you once you start to pull ahead of the second place player. I understand the game mechanics, but all diplomacy comes to an end once you get far enough ahead. So I thought the OP game sounded kinda neat...Just my 2 cents. Goes to show you can please some of the people some of the time...
I don't see the update in my Stardock Central either...
Sorry for the double post, but a bit more info about this apparent bug: I have version 1.01 installed The city is Level 2 For kicks I moved the mage out of the city before the attack and there was no tactical combat, the city was taken by the AI. -------- Updated: I think it may be because the cities I lost were originally AI cities. Perhaps if loyalty hasn't reached a certain point the city militia don't come out for you?
Thank you for the help. The city had (1) mage stationed inside it. I was only attacked one time (the battle I lost). A tactical battle was played out (almost got him since he only attacked with two units and one of the units was a scout). I rushed a nearby swordsman to the city I lost and attacked the city the turn after I lost it. When I attacked the city, the surviving unit that defeated me was there as well as about 3 or 4 city militia! The AI couldn't have built or purchased m
Thank you all for the quick response on question 1. (Don't you think this would be in the manual or guide pinned at the top?) But question 2 states how I had a city attacked by the AI and I had zero militia to defend it (oops....forgot to mention that point), yet the AI did have about 3 militia when I attacked the next turn. I had built a mage and had it stationed in the city, but that was the only unit to defend the city? I found a few other posts stated they have
I cannot find these answers in any thread, but more surprisingly I cannot find this in the manual. I'm probably missing something, but here are my questions anyway: 1. Do cities automatically create militia to defend with? I thought they addressed this in one of the tutorial videos, but I can't seem to find it now. 2. I recently lost a city and when I attacked the next turn, the AI had about three city militia for defense (it couldn't have purchased that ma
